I just got a PS3 100 GB from another trading site(reputable trader) and he said it would only work on the HDMI plug. So i hooked everything up and can't get a picture for nothing. I can hear it running which ever you want to call it,but no picture....any help would be greatly appreciated.....

Without additional info, I can only give you the standard trick to try:
Hook up your PS3 with either component cables or the included AV cables. Then turn the console on by holding your finger on the POWER switch on the CONSOLE until it beeps twice. This will reset the PS3 to factory defaults and you should now get a picture and sound. You can then go into settings and set the console for the video and audio method that you will be hooking the system up with.
