Bleh. I'm trying to declutter. I have a milk crate's worth of atari 2600 games that I"m trying to get rid of:

Unfortunately, a fair amount of actiplague. WHen I made this list, I think * means there's a manual, and ^ means I couldn't actually get it to work.

At this point I'm basically willing to say free to a good home. I wouldn't mind cash but right now this stuff just isn't paying its rent-- I cherry picked the games I really dig, and the multiplayer ones, out. Still some great gaming in there.

Any thoughts?

I didn't quite mean for this to be a "bidding" thing, but a few people have done that by PM.

Possibly I underestimated the value of this.

Part of my reason for aiming local was after talking to UPS (I'm kind of a shipping n00b) it seemed like costs were going to be high, like in the $30-50 range.

So my thinking is this: I'm willing not to take this to Ebay or the marketplace forum here. It will be an accidental "hidden gem" of peopel who pay attention to the NECG forum ;-)

Currently I guess I have a "high bid" of $50 + shipping. I need people to be happy w/ the honor system on shipping; it's still a bit of a question mark, and I'm willing to do whatever the buyer wants me to do.

Let me re-iterate, the condition of these carts is a bit mediocre, I tested 'em though (w/ alcohol on cotton swabs) and only the ones marked with the ^ don't work at all. But some are missing labels, there's a fair amount of actiplague, and only the ones w/ * have manuals.

So I guess PM me by end of day (Tuesday the 4th) if you want to bid higher, or for the person who put in the bid, if they don't feel like they know what they're getting themselves into :-) I'll post higher bids here.

Sorry to NECGers for highjacking the forum a bit, my intentions were good I swear.

I commend you. I wish I could de-clutter, but I just can't bring myself to get rid of any of my games. I really hate myslef.

Well, the stuff was going unplayed for years. Most of it is around via emulator. And my main concern was preserving the multiplayer stuff, and the standout "cool" stuff like Battlezone and Gyruss.

You do have over 117 different games. This as a lot on Ebay would go anywhere from $100 to $150 plus shipping. You also have a couple of rarer games that might push this lot nearer to the $150 side of things.

Well, NECG has a tradition of incredible bargains for people who bother to show up, and are still in collecting mode. I don't mind carrying that tradition forward.

Wish I was still in the Boston area! :)

Best of luck with the sale--there are some great games in there!

I would make a reasonable offer for the whole lot, but I'd rather see it going to someone who is building a personal collection - that is a great lot you have. My purposes for making an offer would result in the destruction of the finest label Atari games and the resale of the poor label and third party games - this collection/offer deserves a better ending than the one I would provide.

At this point it's a fait accompli. I think they ended up about as you suggested, as the base of a collection.

It's kind of a farewell to childhood, about 2/3 of those I had growing up.

It's also a bit of a farewell to a certain type of collecting. I've never been much of a collector for its own sake, though, just out for games to play. And I've already been through stuff like 2600 Spy Hunter, Pengo, and even a Vectrex. The Vectrex I regret, a little, sometimes, just because it was such a neat idea.
