Zaxxon

Game Info
The Zaxxon defence system must be destroyed in this isometric-viewed shoot 'em up which was originally hugely successful in the arcades. The game has 3 stages, first taking you through Asteroid City, which is heavily protected by aircraft, guns and missiles. Many barriers are alarmed, leaving you with limited space to progress through, and fire must constantly be dodged.

this game is very hard... i don't know if I could top my score...

23,900 for my first score. I have only played this game a few times in my life so I dont think that I will get a very good score.

Is there any strategy to avoid the missile from the ZAXXON-boss?
Playing Zaxxon on the CV with the SuperActionController gives me the same "luxury" feeling as 25 years ago.
The CV is like an old Rolls Royce, not the "state of the art" today, but some "high end" feeling...

New personal best- 27,900...though I cant admit to being any good at it. Not one of my favs.

& the collision detection's way iffy- I supposedly crashed into a fuel tank over an inch away from it!

Well, the idea is to blow it up while it's still in Zaxxon. All you have to do is go 2 1/2 bricks/bars up from the bottom and go to the far right screen. Then as he appears and moves forward, stay at the 2 1/2 bars, but move to the left as your fire. At some point you will hit it and the color will change showing a hit. Then stop there and fire away. Several hits later you will blow it up in Zaxxon and have a 5000 point bonus.

If he lanches the missile, then stay put and fire as fast as you can. The missile will line itself up with you. If you move you will only make your shots miss most of the time. It takes 3 or 5 hits to blow it up.

Not a great start at 23,500 - had trouble every time with the end boss and not getting hits in before the missile is launched. I'll follow duncantoml's tips next time I play. Hey, duncantoml if you ever fancy writing a CV tips and tricks book sign me up for a copy .

This weeks game has ended. Sorry for the delay but my internet has been down for several days due to the blizzard that we had here in Alaska. We have over 2ft of snow on the ground. Some areas the snow goes up to my waist.
