"On a very small note, my wife and myself are Sarah and John Hancock for future editions."

That is one very BIG edit I missed. I apologize profusely and cannot believe that I (not Jason) not only got one, but both of your names wrong. It was I who copied your names wrong in our original draft. So, whenever we were looking for edits, naturally, your name looked fine since I was sure I had it right from the beginning.

I have made the correction in my editing copy and again I am truly, truly sorry. A big thanks to both of you for your help with the first edition and I will be sure to give you a call when we start work on the next one. - Robert

P.S. - Again, sorry.

Thanks everyone so far for the orders. For everyone’s info we are wrapping the books in a plastic bag and then we have a very sturdy cardboard box that has almost inch long wings on each end to help with impact. I have mailed out 100's and many have said they arrived perfect and have not heard of any damaged books.
We will be attanding the Midwest Gameing Classic this weekend and will have books for sale both days of the show.

I received my copy of the book several days ago and I'm impressed so far. I haven't had time to go through the book page by page, but I sure as heck will do that when I have time. It's great having a comprehensive book of this nature that includes COLOR pictures of so many cartridges and boxes! It's really a pleasure flipping through the pages. My only quibble would be that some of the prices I looked at were definitely on the high side.

Kudos also to the packaging--I'm glad to see you are shipping the book in a sturdy cardboard box. The "wings" definitely help to protect the book from damage, and enclosing the book in a plastic bag helps keep the cover from getting scratched as well.

Great job!

..Al

Just got my book from Amazon.com and it looks great! The book really gets you into collecting for the Atari systems - which is what I'm into. Looking at all the Artwork for all the software titles is cool! The paper and print are of top notch materials. Thanks. :)

Mine arrived today. It looks great although I was saddened to see that neither Phoenix nor ABC To The VCS were listed in the bibliography.

One error though: Commavid's MagiCard and Video Life were not available only by mail order from Commavid; and you didn't have to own MagiCard to purchase Video Life. I bought my copies from a company called Video Takeout in West Hollywood, CA (from whom I also purchased Eli's Ladder and the Video Jogger/Video Reflex set and mat).

Finally, where's Videosoft's Color Bar Generator for the 2600?

Not to be a picky corrector, but it was North Hollywood. Video Take-Out's Mail Order place was less than a block from where I lived near Magnolia.

That's all right. I put that down from my faulty 20-year old memory. And when I went to E3 in 2005, I stayed in West Hollywood, which just reinforced that that's where I thought the store was. I didn' even know there was a North Hollywood!

It's cool, I am sure I would royally mess up some places from Jersey that I have ordered from in the past! I just happened to live in North Hollywood for almost a decade.

Hello Robert and or Jason!:

Really Great book guys!, I like the entertainment my 2600 H6er provides -even at this late date and your book makes me want to get more software/hardware & things for my VCS. :) A really enjoyable book to look through page by page and enjoy all the old artwork and to read. I have a question to ask. Concerning the SuperCharger, and on page 162 of the book, you guys state:

that there are TWO manuals for the SC starter kit: the Phaser Patrol manual -$3.00 & the Starpath Supercharger manual -$3.00 - (for the supercharger hardware itself usage?)

Anyways, I and others can only find scans around the net of the Phaser Patrol manual and NOT the Starpath Supercharger (hardware?) manual. There is a thread going on right now about whether or not this even exists as there was information about how to operate the SC unit at the beginning of the Phaser Patrol manual and at the front of the other official SC games.

Here is the thread that we are discussing the possible non-existence of the SC hardware operation only manual, as a separate document.

Do you have one of these items in question or can you confirm it's existence please? Anyone else know??

Here: http://www.atariage....view=getnewpost

P.S. - It would be great to have a scan of this manual if someone has it. If that reference is an error in the book please let me know.

Thanks,

oval

Glad that you like the book!

And a big thanks for the play-verified info on Glacier Patrol! Hopefully by the next edition we'll be able to expand that section with an accurate list!

I just got the book your publisher sent us for review. And all i can say is ... wow!

I have used the Digital Press books for years. They are going to have to step it up now.

I hope you are planning other editions.

Look for a full review in a "near" future issue of Video Game Trader.

Thanks again.

This book is excellent! Especially the scans and pics! It´s very detailed and informative! Someone should do something similar with PAL games......... :)
