Howdy!

I'm almost certain I saw this addressed someplace, but I'll be darned if I can locate it. Simple question: Is it possible to change the "font" or the "shape" of the bB score numbers in the kernal?

Yes, you can. The original sprites are located in the score_graphics.asm file, so that's what you'll need to replace. Be sure to name the new file something different and change the default.inc file, or whatever you're using. (for example, if it's a bankswitched game, you'd change bankswitch.inc, etc.) Also, the digits are upside down, so what I usually do is use the sprite editor in 2600IDE to make the new numbers and then copy the ones and zeroes in by hand.

Hello bB user in the future. If you've found this thread because you were searching for an easy way to change the score graphics, that probably means you don't know that Visual batari Basic has an easy-to-use Score Editor. You can use it to create custom fonts, but that's not all you can do:

Imagine all of the cool stuff you could come up with for different types of games, but be careful. If you try to think of it all at once, your brain might explode. :D
