Didn't find out until late yesterday that Amazon had the Xbox360 HD-DVD Add-on on sale for $79.99!!! When I rushed to the website, they were all sold out and the Deal of the Day was over.

While I haven't been really interested in getting into HD-DVD's since I own a PS3 (Blu-ray), I would have jumped on this deal since you still get 6 free HD-DVD's (King Kong in the box and 5 more by mail), which basically would make the Add-on free of charge.

Oh well, maybe another day....

Well reading the comments on Cheap Ass Gamers front page. This may turn out to be a full blown regular price drop and not just a one time deal. If this is true, then hopefully Amazon will soon get more in.

Hell, I'll pick it up for that price too. Even if HD-DVD is the high def loser, there are still plenty of movies I would pick up.

I got one for Christmas. I absolutely love the format. Too bad its gonna die an early death. That said, there is a lot of great content out there for now.

I saw that the HD DVD drive was a DOTD but it was SOLD OUT and didn't list the price it was going for. I would have snagged another for that price. The movies alone would have been worth the $$$. I already have 2 of the HD add-ons so I probably would have just given the player away and kept the flicks. I will tell you this. I can't for the inevitable cheap ass HD DVD movies that will be sold in the coming months. I'll buy up all I can. Just because the format died, doesn't mean the movies stop playing.
