The game has been on the burner for awhile now. I was afeared that the game might disappear altogther simply because it has Atari attached to it. Happily the hands on preview and video on IGN make me think this game is not only coming out but a required purchase....

To be honest, I'm not a fan of the series per se'. I know I played the first game many many years ago...maybe on the 3DO? I dont know how many have been released since then, but I do like creepy games, and after seeing the game in action I have a feeling I'll be picking it up.
Anyone else interested in this one?

I downloaded the two vids on xbox live. The tech demo looked pretty cool but I'm not sure how easy it will be to combine items in the heat of battle. I'm also concerned about the complexity of the game engine and how well debugged it will be.

I have been waiting in anticipation for this. I hope it is as good as it seems it is going to be. I remember when I played AitD the first time and I thought it was just amazing. I expected it would shape a genre and it looks like I was right. Silent Hill, Fatal Frame, and Resident Evil... all amazing and all owe AitD.

I'm buying this as soon as it comes out because A. I love Alone in the Dark (Except the movie). and B. I want to keep Atari Inc. afloat. They need to stop making DBZ games! :x

I'm a fan of the series as a whole (the first one was actually set in the Cthulu mythos, not many know that, but it ties in strongly with a later game called Shadow Of The Comet, which is an officially licensed Lovecraft product, if I remember correctly). I felt that AITD: A New Nightmare for the Dreamcast was a WAY underrated game. That one actually did make me jump in spots (such as in the very beginning, when you're lightly armed, you attempt to open a door when lightning flashes and what looks like three monsters surround you. Turns out that it was only three shadows that disappear as quickly as they came, but WOW, what a jolt). I'm definately going to get this one.

Oh, yeah, screw you Uwe Boll for crapping on what could have been a cool movie premise. Why hasn't some really pissed off gamer took a chainsaw to this guy yet? We're supposed to all be anti-social, murdering psychopaths (who play murder simulators, mind you) anyway, but this butt burglar hasn't been filleted yet? No justice, man. No justice.

This is precisely what caught my interest and made me check out "Call of Cthulu: Dark Corner's of the Earth"

I purchased this for PC when it first came out but I run Linux and I never spent much time trying to get it to work. I later bought the game for Dreamcast but it turns out that there are a very small number of Dreamcasts that won't play this game (from the retail discs anyway... it will read them downloaded from the internet fine) and I just happen to have one of these units. I was going through a lot of my PC games this week and I finally took the time to get this game working in Linux and it actually went quite smoothly (though it was not so easy when I tried it years ago.) So, I am now happily playing this game in Linux and I am very pleased so far. After so much time and different methods of trying to experience this game and getting shutdown every time it would be awfully disappointing to find a game that isn't worth playing.

I stay away from his movies. It just isn't worth the letdown to hope for these movies.
