Hi,

I have a 1080p LCD Sony XBR TV, with my PS3 connected to it via HDMI cable. I have the latest PS3 firmware. I have the PS3 display settings set to maximum resolution of 1080p.

However, when I play the new MLB 08 The Show game, the resolution is at 720p.
How can I get it to display this game in 1080p? I have checked the game settings on MLB, but didnt see any particular resolution settings.

My other Blue Rays all display at 1080p.

Anyone have any suggestions please.
Thanks!

FYI, yes this game CAN be displayed at 1080p as it says on the back of the box.

Is it possible that the game itself cannot display 1080P? I don't believe that all PS3 games can display 1080p. If you look on the back towards the bottom it might say 720p under the HD section. That's my best guess.

This game does run in 1080p. You'll have to uncheck all resolution settings but 1080p to get it running in 1080p. Of course you'll have to change that when playing a non 1080p game. Also I had to buy a new router to even play this game. Don't you love how Sony had their shit together? <sarcasm> It's sucks that such an amazing game and arguably the best baseball game ever made wasn't fully tested before it was released.

Here's a 150 post thread on the official Playstation MLB the Show 08 board about the router issue.
