Does this mean we could see a new descent?

A few days ago it was only announced that they bring a couple of their legacy Genny titles to the Wii VC, but today I also read somewhere that they're planing to deliver a brandnew Earthworm Jim title as well.

BTW: Only a few months ago did inXile secure the trademark for Wasteland...

It's good to see interplay making a comeback, I just hope it pans out.

It's hard to think of a more deserving company, especially after how badly they got dumped on.
It's not like the quallity of their games declined at all.
I think they put in their best effort right up untill the end.
I guess they just put too much faith in the future of pc gaming.

They have a Freespace 2 banner on their site. I certainly hope they make a new Freespace.

It seems like they have forgotten about some of the games they made back in the days. Even their old website from just a few years ago mentioned games like Neuromancer, which is no where to be seen now.

Looking at their tech support page they only mention Mac/PC/Xbox/PS2 and only go back as far as Dos. ????????? What about the rest of the playforms that used to create for; C64, Amiga, NES, SNES, Genesis, Saturn, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, GameGear, Playstation, 3DO, Apple II, Atari ST, Sinclare ZX, ... They don't even mention GameCube, which is modern??? Strange, very strange.

All I care about is one thing, and one thing only: Rerelease of Neuromancer on the Xbox or 360.

While reading through the thread, had a very strange thought... What if Interplay released a TV game with all of the games listed by Artlover? That would sure be something. Just sayin...

Hopefully they dont sell anything else and just concentrate on doing something good.

DId they ever release Descent on the Wii?

Not yet. In fact none of their Wiiware titles made it to Europe so far. Earthworm Jim and Clayfighter were canceled, MDK 2 got only released in the U.S. and Descent and Stonekeep are still "in development", whatever that means...

It was cool to see them back but I'm not sure they are making good decisions.

Interplay is really just like Atari is now. Basically just a name.

All of the people who were at Interplay that made it great, the people who made stuff like Baldurs Gate, Fallout, Bard's Tale, Wasteland, etc, have all had their houses broken up. Some of the more prominent people are now InExile and Obsidian.

In fact, InExile now owns the right to the name "Bard's Tale" (but none of the properties/content of the original games) and Wasteland.

Interplay has no chance of being what it once was.

I think they sold Redneck Rampage to Vivendi (=>Activision).

Interesting enough, after checking Interplays homepage again today, they now list Stonekeep for the 19th january, which would be only a week away. I got a feeling it's another U.S. only release once again though...

I agree. They look like nothing more than a small-time iPhone/PC game publisher. I mean, they have a submission form to submit game demos for Pete's sake.

It's pretty sad. StoneKeep in less than a week?

http://interplay.com.../comingsoon.php

I'm not sure I trust that but I will look into it on the 19th or 20th. Not sure what the delay is for Descent, I would think the Wii controls. Nunchuck to move...want to fire...I wonder what else they are doing with it. Hopefully this stuff doesnt become vaporware.
