I was just digging through my box of carts and came across this Journey Escape by Data Age. I would assume it's a prototype of some sort based on the label.

It has a white label with black letters instead of the normal silver label.

It says on it:

For Demonstration Purposes Only.
Program Content 1982 Data Age

Serial No. 919 (The number is stamped on in red)

Please return to Data Age
No later than January 9, 1983

Is there a resident Prototype guy here, or does anyone know anything about this?

What about a value? I am looking to sell this for a fair price but I have no idea what it's worth. Should I put it on ebay or just sell it here if anyone is interested?

Thanks,

Brent

Having purchased several Atari 2600 protos, I think I can shed some light into this topic. I have purchased these types of proto/preview carts before. Considering the condition of the label (not very good)and if it works, I would say this cart is worth between $70 to $90. Does the cart work????

If you are interested in selling it, shoot me a PM. Otherwise good luck with the cart!!! :)

***YOU SHOULD ONLY POST THIS ONCE.....YOU ALSO HAVE THE SAME TOPIC UNDER ATARI 2600*** One of the mods will lock one of these down.

Sure looks like a genuine Data Age proto to me.

Here are similar looking ones:

And these are slightly different:

Don't know the exact prize for these.

I'm sure Tempest can tell you more about it.

I have come across that same cartridge at a local swap meet about a 1 year ago. I sold it for around $75 if I remember correctly. It seem to be one of the more common demonstration carts out there.

Yep, Data Age demo carts are a dime a dozen. At least as far as prototypes go that is. $75 to $100 sounds about right.
