Who the hell would make a game out of Star Trek V? Do you find God in it?

Pretty much. It's a side scroller loosly following the script of the movie, Also has a space shooter level.

Interesting review... I love the misspellings and such. ("Got" instead of "God" for example.)

Is this the only video game based on an original cast movie?

Man, they're should be a Wrath of Khan game...

Seconded.

Without a doubt the best Star Trek movie ever.

Cool... Thanks!

So, the phasers only shoot out about an inch while the enemies have unlimited range bullets? Where's the love in that?!

At least it looks better than that Star Trek: the Motion Picture game for the Vectrex. That I might add had nothing to do with the movie. Plus the Starfleet bases look like sombreros!

sega supposedly had one in development for the 2600/etc, but then the market died. wonder if we'll ever see any protos. since sega didn't die, it seems their protos have been less numerous than others, tho it sure seemed like they had a nut-ton in development before the crash. wonder if someone at sega will ever give up the candy?

I could have sworn I downloaded the ROM for this game, but I can't find it in the usual places I save things to.

The NES Reproductions website offers a repro of ST:V, so clearly they must have it. http://www.nesreproductions.com/

The DOS version was much better looking I think http://www.mobygames...-final-frontier

UPDATE: I Found it in a Bit Torrent with 900+ NES games.

Attached File  Star_Trek_V___The_Final_Frontier__Proto_.zip   87.22K   161 downloads

And, did anyone beat it? It's a pretty boring game but once you start you have to finish.
