River Raid

Game Info
River Raid is a vertically scrolling action game. You fly a jet up river in an attempt to destroy bridges which are vital to the enemy. The river is heavily guarded, however, with tanks, choppers, and enemy aircraft trying to stop you. Along the way you will need to fly over fuel depots to refuel your jet and keep flying.

HSC Info

-Post your scores in this thread and every couple of days I will update the leaderboard.
-The cutoff for posting scores will be the second Wednesday after the competition begins, at 1:00 A.M. Eastern.
-Use the same skill level as posted so that all the scores will be acurate.
-Please read the Rules and Regulations thread for a thoural description of the HSC rules.

Patch Challenge

If you can score 25,000 points or more, then you will receive one bonus point.

Does anybody have the ROM for this game? It seems that every site I go to has the same bad dump.

Mekaw is still saying that it is a bad dump and will not play. Does this rom work on other emulators?

I'm using the AdamEm emulator with Windows Millenium Edition operating system and the rom works fine. I'm not sure how well AdamEm works though with XP or Vista.

what's up with the "patch challenge"? To join the Activision "River Raiders Club" you have to score 25,000
points (see manual) - we could add 1 bonus point at the HSC if one member scores 25,000 or more!

Not one of my favorite games, so I don't really play this much, but after a few games I got up to Bridge 21 with a score of 38,820

I've just started a colecovision collection and have only 7 games but have played this the most so far

Got to bridge/level 25 with a score of 44,640

Not sure if everyone knows this, but if you hit button 3 (start on level 5) or button 5 (start on level 20), you can practice those higher levels. I found it good for practicing.
