I would have tried that, but my S-VHS deck died a few years back.

Orders will be halted for a few days. I received a pretty nasty dog bite to my face and won't be able to do any soldering for a couple days. Unassembled kits will still ship however. Don't worry I am completely fine now (Hydrocodone!). Doc says it will take around 1 to 2 weeks for it to be completely healed up.

Oh my God! That's awful. Take care of yourself and don't worry about mod boards until you're completely healed.

Yeah, recover quickly. I think you shipped mine but I'm still waiting for mail delivery after all the snow. Had hoped to get it before the storms, but oh well....

Ouch! Glad you will recover though.

I would like a 7800 assembled mod kit. Please post back when you are ready to take orders. Thanks.

Holy... Ouch. I've been unfortunate enough to have seen some really nasty dog attacks in my day, so hearing this made the hair on my neck stand on end. Bit in the face by a dog? That sounds really bad. I hope you heal quickly and suffer no complications or permanent damage.

Get well quickly.

Awesome. There are some cremes that help make scars go away too.

Nice to see you are feeling better LE. Just put in my order for a 7800 assembled mod kit. How much of a back order right now?

Is there any news on a PAL mod for the 2600?

On Monday I will be opening up a "testing" program for the PAL. 10 people will be able to buy PAL mods for the cost of parts alone. There is no guarantee that the mod will work with your TV however. If the mod doesn't work and I figure out why all the testers will receive a "fix" for free of course.

You are probably not short of takers, but I'd be happy to test the 2600 PAL mod.

Got mine installed today and working (7800). Right now I'm using RCA and there's some shadowing / color shift, but I think that was mentioned. I do have an SVideo -> RCA adapter on order waiting for shipment from Taiwan I think. Hopefully that'll clear things up. But the video quality is amazing.

Oh, and for the project I had to buy a desoldering iron. Man that thing is cool.

Any word how Longhorn is doing? Things still on backorder? I'm still waiting for my 2600 video mod unassembled kit I ordered on 2/8/10. Hope he's ok.

I heard last via pm on 3/1/10 that he was catching up, haven't been able to reach him via pm or his website since then.

Sorry Scott, between trying to get ready for MGC and my class work (had 2 tests, project report, lab due this week) its hard to keep tabs on everything. Yes orders are going out. If you ordered something and haven't received a shipping confirmation you could pick one up at the BenHeck table (assuming I still some). Two 7800 mods have already been claimed.

Thanks for the update. I haven't received any shipping confirmation as of yet. I'll keep watching my mailbox...

So does the kit include the RCA jacks themselves, or do they need to be purchased separately?

Cool, this sounds like it could be a fun summer project. :)

Summer? Took me an hour or so. Of course, I got the prebuilt, and not the kit. And... It's so damn important - it can't wait that long.

But you will need a desoldering iron. Definitely.
