both Stella and V26 put this game in PAL colors and a PAL-sized screen, even though I didn't say "set tv pal" in the code. Anyone know why and how to make it think it's NTSC like it's supposed to?

I don't have BBasic set up here, so I can't compile and test. My first guess would be that the number of scanlines produced is such that Stella (and probably z26) auto-detect the ROM as PAL. Perhaps you're producing too many scanlines??

EDIT: Also, if you're using the latest version of Stella, press 'Alt-L' while running the ROM; it will show the number of scanlines and framerate, and you'll know if that's the issue.

I might submit this to the Minigame Compo. The object of the game is to step on three ants in the shortest time possible. Press fire to start, and fire to step. The joystick controls the shadow (the shadow is where the foot will fall.)

The game plays nice but IMO it would be better if it wouldn't stop after 1 round already.
For example after one round is finished wait 'til the player presses fire, then reset the timer to zero, change the playfield color and make the ants a bit faster and so on....

I'll do that in the 4k version. I upped the number of ants to squish in the 2k version to 6. The binary for that is in my blog.
