When I run my program the little block I drew shows up for a second and disappears. I was going to add in the collision detection next.

I've set u=80 and v=50. I've set player0x=u, player0y=v. I also added some joystick routines.
When I run my program the little block I drew shows up for a second and disappears. I was going to add in the collision detection next.

It's because you don't have the color for it in the main loop. You can read more about that here:
