Yes. Replayability is kinda low, tho (* see Human Cannonball").

It could be done. Side scrolling isn't real smooth on the 2600. Not sue bBasic would be the way to do it either.

Only target objects really need to scroll, it doesn't need playfield scrolling at all. Because the "kitten" sprite doesn't necessarily need to occupy the same scanlines as targets (except maybe when colliding...which could use dedicated bitmaps for that)...you have 2 smoothly-scrolling 8-bit sprites to use. Make that 4 if you use 30hz flicker.
