Game Info
I believe the original was Wonder Boy, released by Activision in 1987 for the C64 and many other platforms; was reworked (or ported?) by Hudson Soft in 1988 as Adventure Island for the NES.
Other platforms: Game Boy Advance, J2ME, Wii for "Adventure Island," as "Wonder Boy": Amstrad CPC, Commodore 64, Game Gear, MSX, Sega Master System, Wii, ZX Spectrum
Prequels/sequels/spinoffs: Adventure Island 2 & 3, both released for the Game Boy and the NES, Super Adventure Island for the SNES, plus a few more here and there. Also, Wonder Boy in Monster Land, Wonder Boy in Monster World, two different (?) versions of Wonder Boy III - mostly released for the SMS, C64, and Genesis. Whew!
