NOTE - Make sur the Copyright on the title screen says 1982 - there was a prerelease with a CR of 1981 that is easier.

Yup.....the link at the top of the first post is the 1982 commercial version... not the 1981 prototype version.

I am in awe of your centipede skills!

I've played around 5 games so far...the CX joystick is *not* doing it for this. Time to break out the Wico.

I'm actually using a gravis game pad pro. I think I could do better with a real atari stick.
I've got a couple Wico trac balls that should be fun.
I'll have to try it soon as I finish the software for my adapter :D

I have found that on a 'good' game I get in a rhythm around 30K, and start racking up the free lives. After 70k, the spider goes bat shit crazy, and I find that I'll have a couple quick deaths, then get into sync with the spider for a bit, then quick deaths again. The scorpion is key to high scores, 1000 points every kill!

Awesome score Poobah! I tried the Atari Trak-Ball but the game doesn't support it... must have been Millipede ;) I was thinking about :?: My favourite game of this ilk was Bug Attack...

Guess I'll be playing Centipede for another week now :D
