Contest ends Friday, November 21, 2008 at 11:30 pm EDT. (I am posting a little bit early as I am going to be busy all weekend and I am not sure that I will have time to do it till Monday....so better early than late, I always say! :) )

I have no information on this game, so if anyone does, please feel free to share! Thanks a bunch!!

As always, your comments, suggestions, ideas and gripes are always welcome.

I cant get the CAS image to work in Atari800win+ :( nor the .exe version - anyone else got something? It looks like a neat train game.

Here it is in .atr form on Diskette 14... I got this from Homesoft. Loco is letter D. I am not exactly sure how this game works. I think you press the fire button, and it releases a smoke bubble (that is what it looks like to me) and it kills the planes and bombs. As for jumping over the stuff on the track.. I am not sure how you do that either.

Here we go, I found some information on it: http://www.lemon64.c.....ype=publisher

"The point of the game is to run the train engine on the track and decide which way to go, when you are at a switch. The tracks are branched out, so you need to keep looking at the map at the bottom of the screen not to go down a dead end. Also you need to make sure not to run out of fuel (you have to pick it up on the way). Of course to make it all a bit more interesting you're getting attacked on the way."

More stuff I just found: http://www.worldofsp...rash3800018.jpg

Oh wow... you can even play this online at: http://c64s.com/game/100294/loco/ (Which for some reason I cannot play... but it gives you instructions.)

Hmm just got 9,975... not sure how good this is going to be for the contest as you can rack up a big score by running out of fuel and shooting a ton of stuff rather than beating each level... maybe we should put our best level :?: Anyone else got any thoughts :?:

which version are you running?
the .cas from atarimania seems to address this.
once you run out of fuel, the attacks get very difficult.

I would actually prefer all players to use the ROM from Atarimania, if at all possible. The only reason the other image link was posted is because Goochman was having a hard time getting it to work on his emu. Perhaps someone can help him out with that.

From this point on, if it works on your emulator, please only post scores from the Atarimania .cas image play.

Whether you were playing the Atarimania or Homesoft versions....good job!!!! Keep up the good work! As far as putting the best level... you can do that too. We do have some games where you can rack up lots of points with minimal work, so to speak. It's all in good fun. If anyone else wants to submit their best level, rather than their score, we can do that. I have no problem with that... however, we may end up with a bunch of ties if we only do that.

Any other questions, feel free to ask.

12,425 (level2) Yes, definately too easy to rack-up points by just shooting stuff when you run out of fuel :(

Screen shots are not mandatory... you can just post your score if you are having difficulty uploading a screen shot. I don't know anything about IE8 as I use Firefox. If anyone else has any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated. :)
