EB (or EB games) here in the US became Gamestop.

But it is still called EBGames in a lot of places. There is an EBGames in a mall in my area (same EB Games I snagged Jag games out of the bargain bin from more than a decade ago) but it is exactly the same as the GameStop stores. The funny thing is there is a GameStop (used to be Software, etc. before GS bought them out to) in the same mall on the other floor. The bottom-line is that we used to have a ton of stores all competitive (of which I feel Rhino Games was the best) and they were all bought out by GS. Now I don't bother to leave my computer to shop for video games.

Future Games (a UK chain) were taken over by EB (US company) and in turn they were taken over by Game so technically yes.

His website is still online, but he doesn't reply to email and is missing on ebay since April.

October 26, 2009:

I tried to email/order Wolfenstein without a box and some promo material in the beginning of last week but got no reply. This company had great customer service and order fulfilment back in the day of 800.go.atari!

That was a LONG time ago... I'll try to put this as nicely as possible... but I think maybe Peter Curry just became tired and burnt out in the Atari business. We are certainly a cheap bunch, but we're willing to pay for the things we want.

Back when I would buy from him regularly in 1996-1999 time frame, he was always very responsive, and very helpful. I spent quite a bit of money with him.

The past few years though, especially when he came up with the "name your price" thing that we talked about above, he totally changed. The guy just didn't care anymore.

Oh well... his site is still up though, last updated 1/1/2009...

His 'name your price' sale really meant 'offer me the ebay BIN price' - for someone that was ready to move product he didnt seem like it.

Yeah - one of my Fav RPG's of all time. Wish someone would resurrect and continue the story - or even remake II - IV.

I spoke with Bruce at B&C some weeks ago, he told me Peter Curry was moving from San Louis Obispo to another place and that's the reason why he sold items with "name your price" sale. Also Bruce said he bought many items from GoAtari, but P.Curry still has a large Atari inventory.

is taking my time away from Go Atari.

All items listed on the Web Site are in stock
and available at the posted prices.

Pete

So feel free to order from goatari if you would like to do so.

I noticed that http://www.goatari.com now redirects to B&C. Does anyone know what happened with the GoAtari inventory?

That would explain the original retail prices listed on B&C's site :)

Well, I haven't seen any new items listed at B&C that would indicate that they took on GoAtari's inventory. It is possible that maybe the GoAtari domain simply expired and B&C snatched it up.

It's highly likely if B&C got the huge inventory, they havent had the time to list anything for sale on their page yet. Or atleast ad to inventory of stuff they already have for sale etc. It would make sense that B&C got it since both are in California.

Always with the speculation... So instead go to the source, received this from Bruce today.

>Everything is still in storage.
>We need to re organize our warehouse to merge everything.
>I expect it to be a couple months before we can get organized.
>We also have Telegames Jaguar titles coming soon.

>This msg is sent to you by Bruce at Atari Sales & Service B & C ComputerVisions.

I'm curious to see at what will happen with the price of the Jaguar controllers (if they really took over the inventory of Goatari)

That's an interesting, although not terribly surprising development.
