I was just going through the roms and throwing out the ones I don't need when I noticed that the multi-load Supercharger titles have two sets of files. One where it's broken out into separate loads, and one where they're (I assume) combined. If I'm using a CC2 do I only need the one file?

Also what's this 2600 Screen Search Console stuff? I see a lot of those roms in here.

I don't own a CC2, but if you're able to enter all parts of a one file Supercharger ROM, you can remove the seperate loads.

Please ask Nukey or Omegamatrix for further details on that one.

The 2600 Screen Search Console ROMs are ROMs found on a VCS clone that are slightly different then the original versions (logo removed or replaced, graphic hacks or different scanline count).

Your choice to remove these, but some of them are quite interesting, like the Chopper Command hack.

Same goes for the 208 in 1 cart ROMs.

Yeah I saved anything that said (hack) just in case it was interesting. I still need to go through all the alternate roms and see what changed. Some I know because I followed that thread, but there are several I'm not familiar with like the 6 or 7 different Rush Hour roms. To the best of my knowledge there's only one proto and one fixed rom (sold at CGE). Where did all those other ones come from?

Scott Stilphen gave these to me.

They're legit.

What blows a goat is I am UNABLE to download any rom's and save them to my computer to play so I have to just bookmark and play games with Stella while online.

Everytime I try to open a rom which I have saved on my computer it says "Not a valid Winzip application" in a big assed dialog box and pisses me off. I dunno what causes it but appartenly my machine will not save and play them like everyone elses.

Try seven zip. It's free and it does winzip files.

When I play online Stella itself opens the files..... frustrating indeed.

You want the seperate files for the Supercharger multi-load games on the CC2.

Ahh ok. What's the big file for then? Emulators? Does the CC2 know how to get to the next load?

Yeah, I think the big file is for emus. The CC2 should be able to pickup the next load automatically as long as all of the loads are in the games folder you run your CC2menugen against.

Well I have managed to dowload and save the roms BUT when I open it I only get the title screen from "2 Pack Challenge/Surfing" with no option to go to the other games. What do I need to do differently?

Wp

Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

You've had this problem in the past, and unfortunately it seems you're still having problems with it. You need to unzip the ZIP file first, before you even use Stella. Unzipping will extract all the files in the ZIP archive to some place on your hard drive. Then you point Stella towards that directory, and select a game from within the Stella UI.

You shouldn't have ZIP fles set up to automatically open in Stella. They should be set up to open with WinZIP or some other ZIP archival program. And you probably shouldn't associate .a26 or .bin files with Stella either. It's best to use the internal file browser in Stella to select a game, instead of relying on Windows Explorer.

Again, to reiterate, you shouldn't associate ZIP files with Stella. Stella does have the ability to open ZIP files, but it will only use the first ROM it finds in the archive. This was added as a convenience since many ROMs released on AtariAge are zipped, one ROM per zipfile. This support was never meant to be used to browse a zipfile that contains multiple ROMs. The correct procedure is to unzip it first.

DONE! Thanks Stephen!
