Mr. Robot and His Robot Factory

Contest ends Friday, February 13, 2009 at 11:30 pm EDT.

I don't know anything about this game. So until Goochman or anyone else can give us a little help here, play default settings.

This was released in the US in 1983 by Datamost Software and programmed by Ron Rosen. Here is also a link to a review of the game by George Kopp.

Have fun and good luck!!

As always, please feel free to post comments, suggestions, ideas and gripes.

And another new best: 176,450.

My tip: You can start on any level from A-V by pressing the select button after starting a new game. This gives you the chance to practice a level you might be having trouble with.

I think level M is a bonus round, complete with 2 extra lives.

This is one of my all time favs. I'm going to love this week. :)

Great game. The little bombs make for a unique challenge.

This is more fun than I remembered it to be. Don't think it's quite got the crispness of jumping that Miner & BBSB have... think it's them rounded edges :ponder: constructing screens is fun... will post a couple of disks that I did some time ago when I add a couple to finish them :)

Tip: Bounce MR.R off the sides of the screen to make some jumps!

229,030. Working on level "S" now.

Another tip: On the levels with the bombs, try to detonate as many as you can. You get 50 points per bomb you blow up. Doesn't seem like much but some levels are covered with them. That's thousands of extra points.

I wonder if the game starts over after 'V.' I'm sure someone will find out during the next 2 weeks.

You're obviously too busy with your charity work :) Have you got a joystick? If not ask for one for your birthday or even Valentines day, just what every girl would want ;)

Boy was I having trouble with level L... 6 goes and some cussing later... all is well :D

Here are a my Mr Robot Screen efforts (Zipped ATR files from my 1050 Drive)
Probably Vol 1 will be easier than Vol 2... have fun! [Probably not just looking at the first screen (B?!) which is very tricky indeed... :D Make that very very tricky indeed as I've had about 10 goes and can't beat it!]
Jason

Just tried to see if these work on the emulator, seemed ok. Press Option(F4) to go to the Robot Factory then attach the levels disk above as drive 1. Then click on play at the bottom of the screen.

Also, looks like some guys from Poland have done another set of screens and hacked the titles added some funky music and created Mr Robot 2 - http://www.atarimani...VERSION_ID=3577

This game is addicting. I can't seem to quit. I've hit a roadblock with the magnets though. Can't figure out how to use them properly. :ponder:

Collect the magnets by jumping from the end of the platform back to the middle of the platform... then make the big leap of faith!

Nice Cake there JellE, save me a slice... Happy Birthday!
