I notice that when you choose your game type, you can press option to change display and controller options. There's an interlace setting, but as far as I can tell it just doesn't interlace the picture at all. It just starts wobbling about, as if it's interlacing it horizontally, not vertically. I know what an interlaced screen should look like and this is far from it. I have a PAL Jag and I use an RGB connection and I got the cart from the US on eBay. There shouldn't be any problem with this should there?

Can someone else try it? I was hoping for double the vertical resolution...

You're right as far as the menus are concerned (with a PAL JAG and cart) but it doesn't seem that noticeable in-game...maybe because so much stuff's moving around at once.

My immediate thought was that it might be to help improve the 3d effect (by providing greater depth perception). I guess you'd have to ask Jeff though ;)

The moment you set the option (while you're still in the menu) the wobbliness starts. I've just been looking in Google Groups and a few other people have pointed out that it's not really interlacing. Maybe Jeff didn't finish this off or it's a bug that slipped into the release version.

...Just taken a closer look - it is attempting a horizontal interlace (I'm using an RGB monitor so it's quite clear). Surely the vertical res is the one you want to be doubling on a TV...
