Its not a store or anything, just some guy's basement that possibly contains an Incredible Hulk prototype.

What! Not even to a regular. Maybe you need to give him more time? He'll soften up after a while. :P

It has been found, dumped, and everyone in the world has the ROM but you apparently.

Yup, I have a habit of saying that to n00bs who request a proto or ROM that - according to ongoing discussions - has never surfaced. Like they're afraid everyone is aware it has been found and everyone has a copy but no one has yet posted as to its availability.

It's like when a rumored proto is initially discussed and the thread is forgotten. Then someone bumps that thread a year later and asks if it has been found and dumped. If it has, don'tcha think there would be a thread 500 posts long discussing the gameplay along with a general announcement post trumpeting the release - possibly with ROM attached? So I'm just feeding the paranoia that they missed out on somethin' grand.

Sorry, atariwizard, nobody is going to respond to your question seriously. You don't have a high enough rating to be in the know.

Asking questions out of curiosity doesn't really work here, in fact you've raised suspicions and sparked anger by asking a legit question.

You have no right to ask questions because your a noob. It's OK to start one of these topics (if you already know something) and the never reply, but you darn well better not expect anything but hostility or just outright ignoring if your new or uninformed.

Or it could be that there's no news to report.

Or it could be that the guy asked what the Chicago Basement is and got a bunch of smart a** answers.

I know I'm committing social suicide here, but over the past few years some of these forums have gone from being a helpful place where all kinds of people can ask questions, to just an outright clubhouse mentality.

I've read posts where new members to the community have been blasted for asking questions. It just doesn't make any sense.

This is my opinion, I'm entitled to it. I haven't launched an outright assault on anyone, it's just how I feel.

I'm done here.

The original poster received a bunch of smart-aleck replies because his original comment was two lines long, contained no punctuation or capitalization, and asked a vague question without providing any real specifics.

If the original poster had posted his question in a more coherent fashion and simply adhered to the slightest bit of common message board etiquette, I am sure his question would have been better received. Go ahead, laugh, but the fact that AtariAge is able to maintain some basic level of decency and the majority of messages on here are not constructed in l33t speak or as text messages is one of the reasons I come back daily.
