Look who's resurfaced in an all new adventure. It's Frogger! Three distinctly different screens take our fearless frog on another homeward bound journey, but this time it's underwater, over water, and through the air! Frogger must swim against strong currents. Whisk over whales and hippos, sidestep submarines, spring from cloud trampolines to high-flying birds and so much more. So, Frogger lovers, kiss your lily pads good-bye and get set some fast and frantic fun!

Scoring Points in Frogger II: Threeedeep!

  • Reaching a home berth - 99 points
  • Advancing a row (underwater and surface screens only) - 1 point
  • Time remaining - 1 point per tick
  • Eating an air bubble - 50 points
  • Jumping off a lily pad - 50 points
  • Eating a butterfly - 50 points
  • You get an extra life every 2000 points (awarded when you reach a home berth on the same screen)

Hints and Tips
The Manual
As always, you really should read the manual. In case you don't have the manual, AtariAge has a typed copy available online. Unfortunately, the manual doesn't contain any real hints, though this sequel is a bit more complicated than the original, so it might be worth reading about how some of the stuff works.
aftermac
If you're about to get hit by the shark and have nowhere to jump it's better to jump in the water and repeat the underwater screen than lose a life.

On the underwater board stay close to the bottom and collect as many air bubbles as possible. The closer you are to the bottom when you collect them, the more rapidly they will appear. Just be careful not to touch the eel!
SeaGtGruff
I find it helpful to fill the screens from the top down, if possible-- screen 3 first, then screen 2, then screen 1-- because it's easier to fall back to the previous screen (if you go too far or miss) than to have to make your way back up to a higher screen if you miss it.

Funny you should mention Pink Panther. When I first went on AA today I was expecting "Good Luck Charlie Brown, Pink Panther, and Turbo Released !!!!!!!" on the front page :D Oh well, some day. At least we got Jr. Pacman!

I couldn't get this to load up on my 7800 with the Kroko Cart...so I had to dig through my collection to find the actual cart. I forgot how much fun this one is. Great choice!

You know the picture and description is for Frogger, right? Are there any special difficulty settings?

Another enjoyable week with a new game for me. I like the added screens and change of pace they introduce.

What, it rolls after 9999? Sheesh, didn't Parker Bros. know how to do 6-digit scores? ;)

Congrats on your roll, by the way!

Thanks! I wasn't sure if it was going to roll or not, so I took the first screenshot just in case. :)

9999 is pretty low for this game to roll, it had just started to get really challenging. I actually lost 3 lives between 9000 and 9500... If I hadn't made a few mental mistakes approaching the potential roll, I could have kept going for quite a while.
