I'm just settling into playing through Doom and I've got it to crash already. I'm only on area 9. I walked into this bit right after I saw my first flying skull creature and it locked up with "PlayerInSpecialSector: unknown" written across the bottom of the screen.

Does this sort of thing happen often? If so I think I'll just load up the PC version instead...

Ive never had any problems with DOOM. I have never heard of your problem either .

Hi !

JagDoom has some bugs.
Like the one your described or you can also just into a level that doesn't exist (with the level cheat... level 25 if I remember correctly)
and the network also hangs often.
And on the map, the bottom part of the status display is cut off...

However the bug that you saw is quite rare I think. It only happened to me once, but never again.

The other bugs don't really affect the normal gameplay. Only network gameplay can be quite frustrating if you have bad luck and it crashes often.

Thanks Lars. I had thought my Jag might be going wrong...
My Jag is getting more attention since my flat was burgled yesterday and I lost my PS2 with all its games.

Good job they didn't realise the true value of the Atari and the games I've accumulated from eBay
