Does the cursor move up, if so wouldn't a Trak-Ball be better?

AX

Hmmm, I've seen it in the video, but, you know, I'd happily give up the option of moving vertically for good ol' rotary action!!! hehe

(edit: BTW, it would be really great to have track-ball compatibility, along with a nice track-ball, of course...)

The release is getting a lot of interest :
http://kotaku.com/5241855/atari-jaguar-get...-game-this-year
And of course, the usual negative follow-up comments from the Jaguar haters...

Well, you can't avoid that, but it's always better than no interest at all :)

Negative interest seems to get more interest and more copies out there.
I'll take it! :D

Yes, but it gets tiresome, especially the whole 64=32+32 thing...

I got your back.....I Know the truth....and the truth shall set you free.
Hey, if they want to remain ignorant an conjure up inaccurate dung
about the hardware they don't know square one about, Let 'em.

You now the deal..I've already confired that for you.

I just found it through Kotaku, can't believe I missed this post... (though I don't hit the Jag section all that often.)

And the announcement was even on my birthday! :)

Anyway, in for one!

Cool...I hope it was a nice suprise for you then!
Happy Birthday!

What!? Jaguar isn't 64 bit
Not sure whether you're serious or trying to be humourous here, but it's just old, really old, and not funny.
Yes, the Jaguar is 64-bit. Please go read the FAQ for the Jaguar.

Wow, you hardcore Jag guys really don't have a sence of humor... Hyper just got upset with me for saying you can get VD from a Torrent... Yes, it was a joke... and so was this, PLUS I didn't bring it up (the Jaguar 32 bit thing). Is it me specifically, that you just don't want to take humor from... or is it really a lack of a funny bone around here? [rhetorical]

I bought my copy of Mad Bodies... and just because I'm not on JSII doesn't make me less of a Jag fan. I'm aware of the specs.

AX

I know your a true fan brutha! ;) LS650 is just fed up with the clowns that
really mean it.

Anyways...

Back to discussion of Mad Bodies!

So, considering the gameplay, does this game support a rotary controller?

I'm guessing no, but it would be really damn awesome if it did!

I lobbied for it. I had the code ready....but there was just no more room
to fit it AND the Joystick code.

Perhaps a sequel someday....oh..that is pure conjecture at this time.

I see there are already two posts about possible usage of the rotary controller, but no answers yet.
Hence, I am a little anxious about it. I have a ratary, too, and it would be *great* to use it on a new game.

So, Terance, k3v, Steve, Scott, give us this news!!!

I only wished I could tell you yes but it just would not fit.
We packed that friggin ROM till it was screaming. I begged
Scott to find a way and it just was'nt possible. Sorry guys.
I hope Paddle Baddles 3D will make up for that someday
though.

Here is an unboxing photo collection! I just got mine yesterday! This is one of the most professional packagings of a homemade product I've ever seen, and the packaging for mailing purposes was also outstanding.

Play review to come soon.

By the way....every time I try to photograph videogame boxes (or games), I have terrible problems with glare and the pictures turn out terrible. But the flash is needed for picture clarity. Any ideas on improving my impoverished photo taking skills???

Package was sent Priority Mail in a box...not an envelope:

Pink foam was underneath and above the cartridge box:

Nice graphic on the front of the box....camera doesn't do it justice:
Posted Image

Thickness of the box is about 1.5 times a normal Jaguar box and it is sturdy plastic:
Posted Image

Bad pic! Sorry folks... the back of the box is also very well done:
Posted Image

The cartridge itself is also packed in cut-out pink foam that stays in the case:
Posted Image

The cartridge itself looks like it just rolled off the original Atari assembly line:

Game instructions are in black and white. Well documented instructions with a bit of sass to the writing style:

Tom-Lynx : if you don't want your address to be known, you should obscure the barcodes on the package, too.

I figured from some of the comments previously that the cart was encased in a VHS-style shell. Sweet. I hate how the thin cardboard boxes can get crushed... :(

So did I. Scott wanted to go CB box on tradition. I got him to realize that
we save you from paying $90 for a much better protection of your investment
for less money and much nicer sturdier all around.

We are not bound to any overkill quantity as these cases can be bought one at a
time and are not that much more than in bulk. This also helps us by allowing us
very small runs to match demand hence keeping it available as long as there is
demand. It's also why we used these type cases for Gorf Classic CD...unfortunately
that did not work out as well... ;)

The CB boxes cost so much because like cart shells, unless you buy several thousand
you'll pay up to 10 times as much. Another nicety is the pink anti-static foam protecting it.

The one other bonus of the new box is that you can easily fit a paper sleeved CD/DVD
along with the cart if any one ever wanted to make a combo game that uses both.

This might be useful for a Doom type game altered to allow disc based levels and such.

@ Tom-Lynx

turn off the flash and use a different light source (lamp or something else at a pinch) just have it close to but not shinning on the item to be photographed... Also if your camera has it and you can keep steady enough (tripod works) use a macro setting for close ups...

:)

It is our gaol to make you a professional new game as if it were from
a living Jaguar market. If only we could get them out faster.

Mighty Frog and G.E.T. (formerly Gorf Plus) are slated next.
Mighty is very close to code completion(then the testing)
GET has a few more things to be added and that should really
make you happy.

Thanks for the favorable review and enjoy... er get MAD!!! ;)
(and you will)

I'll see if I can get either Scott or Terance to post a gallery of shots on the order site.

Whoa. The Stooges have DEFINITELY raised the bar on homebrew releases! :lust:

Seriously, kudos for bending over backwards to provide what collectors really need: Something collectible!

Though the collectiblity works well with the package, the over all
concern was cost and sturdiness....we easily found the superior of
both worlds. That case should hold up quite a while.

The most rewarding aspect of this release is it is an original title
void of any possible lawsuits!
