mcjakeqcool
Well of coarse it was'ent gonna sell well, who plays a PC/Console combo with a joystick?! A mouse maybe, but not a joystick I mean how the hell do you play Populous with a joystick, you can't! It is impossible.
ApolloBoy
I mean how the hell do you play Populous with a joystick, you can't! It is impossible. Um, Populous was never released on the A8. Remember this is circa-1979 hardware we're talking about here.

Bryan
....since Atari frequently hired heralds to proclaim sales figures to the common man.
Goochman
Looks like Atari didnt sell sh*t from the XE line.............Look at the sale sfigures for the last year of the 5200 (86) in the 5200 forum posting Curt made.
+wood_jl
Of course, the ST was in its prime and 8-bit users were defecting to ST (or other 16-bit) at an alarming rate during these years. It would be interesting to see 1982-1985 data when it was just A8 vs. Commodore 64 (and others), although we know A8 never sold [as] well. mcjakeqcool
Atari juggled the 2600 jr, the 7800, the XE, the Lynx, the 8 bit line and the ST in the late 80s, the only thing missing was the 5200 and the Jaguar (for obvious reasons).
