ZylonBane
I'm sorry, but between the ghosting, the room reflections, the moire patterns, the muddy audio, and the occasional camera bouncing, I'm finding these videos pretty well unwatchable. Oh... and hearing you say "SHIT!" on the Rayman video... classy.

Oh... and hearing you say "SHIT!" on the Rayman video... classy. Hey, I did the best I could with the equipment I have! I have no money to invest in capture cards and all that jazz. "pretty well unwatchable"? Ya...to an extremely picky & anal person... Wow, what are you, 5 years old? Adults can't say SHIT? Freedom of speech!? Are you the one who went on a 1 star rating spree with my videos?! Very enlightening! Thank you for taking the time to do that. Thank you. It was my pleasure. Okay, what the heck is Native and where do I buy it? AX You can actually burn yourself a free copy from the internet, as it is freeware. I had a buddy at Jaguar Sector II burn me some freeware demo's etc. and payed him for shipping. Native is a 2d side scrolling shooter that is incomplete. So it's in demo form basically. Looks awesome though doesn't it? Edited July 5, 2009 by kevincal
+LS650
I found that the videos, while not perfect, are readily watchable and give viewers without that game a chance to see what it's like. I guess some people just enjoy being needlessly negative and unhelpful.

S1500
I would have liked to have heard the game audio instead of the whirring of the camcorder motors & various controller mechanisms. Let me be frank with you. Gameplay videos that consist of putting a camcorder in front of a TV will come out terrible, in video AND audio. The gameplay videos I did were with a freakin' 50 dollar TV card. That's probably less than the cost of a few Jag games. It's by no means professional equipment, but it can do composite or S-video capture. Or just use coaxial. Direct audio capture is a piece of cake. Hey, if Jaguar is nothing but the best, why not capture it with something equally as good?
kevincal
$50 is a lot of money to me right now... Jaguar isn't nothing but the best.. There is good and bad about it. Let me be honest. My videos didn't come out "terrible". You want to see terrible? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7egsayghzg There are a lot more videos like that where people don't even care about setting the camera up properly (like I did) or having the sound at a good level even with some bass (like I did). I'm getting tired of people giving my videos 1 star and calling them terrible.. They really aren't that bad. Look at some of the other comments people made saying they liked my videos. I'm not just saying my videos aren't that bad because I made them, they REALLY AREN'T THAT BAD!!! Could be better (with a capture card OBVIOUSLY), of course, could be a lot worse? YEP. Christos
I agree with s1500. Though I did find the videos useful to some extend I think that with a minimum cost of equipment, such as a 20-30 euro tv card you can do much better. I've taken most of my falcon videos (but one) with such a cheapo tv card and even though the ST and Falcon, by not outputing proper PAL/NTSC signal make the job an awful lot more difficult I think that they are watchable. And btw, I personally find comments that point out errors and offer solutions much more useful than a "you rule" comment. You can't improve if that's all you get. kevincal
You know what the hilarious thing is? Some of my videos came out BETTER than some videos taken with your godly "capture card". Take for instance my VLM videos... Those came out especially good imo. Compare the quality of my VLM video compared to a capture card VLM video... My video = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLR5x7fZe8U&fmt=18 Capture Card = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RiuYa6vzsiY&fmt=18 Ok, I give that the sound is better with the capture card (crisper quality with the capture card, but infact my sound has more intensity...), but look how much more blurry the capture card image is than mine... HMM ... I made no errors. I did the best job possible recording in the way I did. A big "DUH" that videos taken with a capture card SHOULD turn out better. But capture cards aren't cheap and I can't afford one. It's as simple as that. Not to mention if I ever did get one, I'd surely run into troubles getting it to work properly... People are pointing out the obvious AND EXAGGERATING about how bad the videos are. Plain and simple. "OMG, he's using a camcorder OMG I can hear the minute noise it makes when the game isn't making any noise OMG it's the end of the freaking world. OMG I see glare on 1/100th of the tv OMG the sound isn't perfect". The sad fact is, people these days like to criticize anyone for anything to somehow make themselves feel above another person. You are wrong when you claim people are trying to help me by giving my videos 1 star and stating the obvious "get a capture card blah blah" Infact some are going so far as to insult my intelligence by assuming I don't even know about capture cards.. Of course I do. I mean, damn people, if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything. It boils down to this. You who criticize me and others without thinking first. You need to assume the person did the best job they could with the tools they had. And also realize people are struggling these days and can't afford much. Instead of shooting people and their work down. I spent a good amount of time making these videos for the sole purpose of others enjoyment. See where I'm coming from? Christos
Hey, I think that it was a pretty good job with the equipment available. But when you release something you can't expect it to go devoid of criticism. And fyi the person most dissatisfied with the quality of my videos is myself. That doesn't stop me from releasing and neither should it stop you. I really don't get the if you've got nothing nice to say, say nothing mentallity. It's not an attack on you personally (I don't know you to attack you and nor do I care to do so) or your work. They are just comments. Even the 1 star scores mean that one person at least hated your videos. Why is that bad? Noone knows how many people hated my videos but I imagine they are many. So.. I should take those opinions into consideration and improve the quality the next time. And btw, if people weren't interested in what you were doing then they wouldn't comment at all 4-3 huh? Actually 4-1-2 since I didn't say I don't like your videos

Honestly, I just want some feedback on them. Comments, favorites etc.. Anything except criticizing me for my ghetto recording method!" So, I did ask. Oh well. Oh and someone didn't give all my Jag videos 1 star because they hated them. They gave them 1 star because they hate ME. I guarantee they didn't watch any of my videos for more than 30 seconds. They probably watched one video for 30 seconds, and then decided to be an asshole and click on the rest of my videos as fast as they could and rate them all 1 star. Anything except criticizing me for my ghetto recording method!" I think there was an attempt to offer some constructive criticism. The problem is despite what your limitations may be, you are communicating with these in a solely audio/visual format. And you are also trying to (ostensibly) represent the Jag in a positive light. So again despite your limitations - having videos that have some severe video distortion or poor audio in them is not the best way to do so, no matter what your best intentions are. This isn't an attack, it's simply a fact.

the.golden.ax
Zylobane is just sad because he only has a 3.5" floppy. Ignore him. Us men with real HARD DRIVES have better things to do than look for the flaws in life. Trust me, the script of life is poorly written, and the acting is even worse. Now, as for youtube videos... if you are doing apples to apples, this is typical youtube fare. Come on guys he isn't a pro. I kind of like to hear the klicking and button pushing, but would like game sound. Only watched the one video though. Maybe Native as no sound? PS how about a link for the lazy on that Native download? AX Edited July 6, 2009 by the.golden.ax

No it isn't, and I'm sorry you feel that way. Having wild moire/color distortions in videos that are supposed to be representing the system, does not do it justice. I'm all for your enthusiasm and work that you put forward. You do need to consider the results in context though. That's all I am saying.
