Important Note: This weeks competition is over and no further scores will be accepted.

For though he was gentle and kind, it was Quasimodo's crime to have been born hideously deformed. But one day his heart would prove to be a thing of rare beauty. She was Esmerelda. The victim of a coward's jealous rage, she is unjustly convicted of a crime she didn't commit. Her sentence is death by hanging. Only one man can save her --Quasimodo.

Note: This homebrew game is available from the AtariAge store!

Scoring Points in Hunchy II

  • Your score is based on the bonus timer; if this timer reaches zero, you will receive no score for the level. To maximize your score, you need to complete each level as quickly as possible.

Hints and Tips
The Manual
As always, you really should read the manual. In case you don't have the manual, scroll down and check out the scanned version that I've posted.
Deteacher
You can get up the ladders faster if you jump while you climb up.

AtariAge doesn't have the manual for this one online, so I scanned it myself. Enjoy!

Is there any way to get the ROM for people who don't have the cartridge?

My best so far is 360. For some odd reason, Stella won't let me take a screenshot for this game... it's giving an error message opening the snapshot file.

I don't think I'll continue playing this... I got to a certain screen where it's not easy getting any farther, and I rather don't want to try.

Just for the record, Ocean, who ported Hunchback to the Commodore 64, also made a sequel called "Hunchback II", and they turned it into a platformer similar to this one as well.

That's a fun game!

It's too bad that there's no way to get the word out ahead of time about homebrew titles. If I'd have known about this last week I might have purchased it to play this week. (of course then those less scrupulous would have the opportunity to practice up!)

Awesome game. A bit easy to remember the patterns though.

Just download the ROM here.

When setting up on the CC2, what is the 2 character load scheme you use (not sure load scheme is the right term, but I'm fairly new at this.)

I know it is not F6, 4K, E0.. what do you use with this one?

That's odd, Stella says it uses "4K," and the ROM is 4K in size, so "4K" should work on the Cuttle Cart 2.

Finally made it through Level 4! (Also known as "The Evil Level.") Level 5 looks easier, but I haven't completed it yet.

This game is awesome! Only the walking sound is annoying, too bad you can't turn it off.

Man, that last board I was on was murder. There's a continuous wall of bullets. :skull:
