Good score at Pro level. Can you post picture of score from real atari just for comparison purposes?

Ok. I'll give a try, however I have to install my real a8. Give me this week to do it. This is the first time I pass the level 20, my old best was 152,120

Anyway Now I'm much better avoid the moving walls.

by the way, I have thinking about those competition pro joystick and they would be great for this game because the game needs sensibility for passing several traps (actually walls).

I always consider playing on real ataris making competition more equal since emulators vary in performance depending on machine and joystick interface you use (gameport, parallel port adapters, arrow keys, etc.) not even speaking of bugs and other differences. Sometimes it's harder on emulators to get higher scores and sometimes it's easier.

Yes, I understand, however the main idea of this HSC is to play in any media that the player is able to (actually to have fun), of course, cheating can't be avoid in that way, but for more serious competition twingalaxies is the key http://www.atariage....showtopic=68776

Emulators, real hardware are permitted as I remember, unless this rule has changed these years. Anyway I want try with my a800xl NTSC.
By the other hand -with Hero I believe It doesn't affect- some games are much faster (and harder) when playing in PAL (because were made for PAL). Then there to use an emulator for NTSC users is the only choice.

Not sure if the comp pro is any better, still I managed a new p.b. of 64,610 :) I never played this much and can see why, the control is too annoying :x patience |:)

I wasn't changing the rules. I was also doing it for fun given you are expert at this game. I wanted to see what kind of score you get using real Atari just for comparison purposes. You may even get a higher score.

This is one of those games with fixed patterns so the more you play the better you get unlike Donkey Kong where barrel patterns is not deterministic or Qix which is also non-deterministic.

You need a few more thousand to get past 16-bit number.

Oops, sorry if there was a misunderstanding. I didn't want to be rude at all. I apologize if you felt I was fighting :)

I just want to explain the different scenarios that happens in these contests, besides I was testing the game (only on the emulator yet) and with PAL the game is notoriously slower than NTSC for the same reason I think there is a little advantage for that format.

Anyway I'll try on the atari with my sio2pc (I have only a 2600 hero cart :P ).

There are maps available but I don't think it's useful as the path is rather straightforward but the hard part is the control of the "HERO" :)
