Never I understood this game. Besides escaping from the water and catching gold (or minerals) I always get stuck.
What should I do? I don't see how to pass to the next level... any tips?

Keep low, collect everything and go back to the top (start) to end the level. You get a bonus for unused dynamite. I seem to remember that this game gives out too many extra lives and doesn't get any harder after a few levels, hopefully not
