Volume # and date of mag would be a lot of help. If you have that info.

I too would like to see this torrent resurrected. I am attempting to get it, but there are only peers, no seeds. I subscribed to softside way back then and would type in code for hours. Still coding after all these years. If you have this collection, please seed!

seeding again...

Thank you so much! Some of these issues really bring back memories. After school I would check the mailbox for the latest issue. I grew up on a farm in rural Iowa and this was the only magazine I subscribed to. When a new one would arrive I would read it cover-to-cover and carry it with me nearly everywhere. Typing in all the TRS-80 programs helped me learn to program better and I even sent a couple of my own programs in hoping to be published.

Does anyone remember a segment called one-liners? It was a challenge to write an entire program in one line of "code", usually 255 bytes or less. I think that was in Softside but maybe it was Creative Computing??

I know these requests are probably getting annoying, but is there any chance someone(s) could seed this torrent again? I've been doing quite a lot of work with computing history lately, some of which is documented in my blog (http://www.filfre.net). These would really be invaluable to me for researching the TRS-80 scene in particular and the very early home computer era in general.

Thanks!
Jimmy

I still have it shared. You should be able to download it if your IP isn't filtered by the latest PeerBlock lists.

Rainbow used to have a monthly One Liner. I doubt it was the only magazine to do so though.

I was showing a few peers yesterday, but never actually connected to any of them for over twelve hours. I assumed they were just ghosts of some sort, especially as the "Avail" number stayed at 0 throughout.

Today I am connected with one peer, albeit still not to the one listed seed. "Avail" shows .054 now. We'll see how it goes.

Thanks!
Jimmy

I have 4 downloaders today and one is over 25% complete even though I'm not sharing at a high speed. I'd bump up the upload bandwidth but then nobody else would be seeding long. That and I'm seeding for at least a dozen magazine archives so I have to split the bandwidth up.

Okay, no problem. I was getting a fairly steady dribble for several hours earlier today, but nothing now. Hopefully we'll get there someday. :)

Thanks very much to today's new seeders! When mine is complete, I'll leave it seeing for a week or so.

Since there are several seeders now I'm going back to using a scheduler to only seed late at night.

I'll continue to seed for at least the next few weeks during the day, when my computer is on.

Nibble magazine for the Apple computers were pretty famous for their one-liners section. They even released a three compilation books (One Minute Apple Programs, Two Minute Apple Programs, Three Minute Apple Programs).

I've stalled out at about 89%.
Can anybody bring up theirs for a while? Or maybe tomorrow during the US day? I would be very happy to complete this.
Thanks.
