Glad to see the torrent up!!!
Loved this mag!!
I will become a seeder for this file once I get home to download the torrent!!
I see now that there are 8 seeders and 5 leeches. There are 2 torrent files. The one with 8 seeders is 2845mb. The other, with same file name, has 2 leeches, and is 2911mb.
I'm going to assume the smaller file is the correct file.

In lieu of posting them here I've posted all of the links (1 - 62) on this site:

http://tech.groups.y...ftside/messages

You should be able to read them all without joining (unless you want to post).

Note that they MAY go away after 2 months - not in my control - so get them while you can.

I've had a few emails asking about the torrent..
As I mentioned, some of the Atari specific files in the torrent report as incomplete. Did you manage to find/fix those?

Hey there.. What I think happened is this: I started the first torrent and realized that I had some work files in there so I moved the files around how I wanted them and moved the work files out of the way and created the second torrent. I (thought) I had deleted the first torrent but it turned out there were people downloading the first torrent.. I think that is why some people were getting 300K downloads while others were taking days.. The ones on the first torrent that I didn't properly remove the torrent were taking days.

I've been working on the SoftSides the past few days.. If you can tell me which files specifically I will double check to make sure its not on my side...

Greetings people...

I wanted to do a quick interest check for a SoftSide DVD.. This is basically the same content that is in the Torrent/RapdidShare/etc I put up a while ago with a few minor changes (there were some typos in the filenames, a couple of the magazine numbers were wrong, a few of the pages inside the PDFs were reversed). One large change (at least for me) is that I went through each of the magazines and added bookmarks which makes going through them much nicer:

Attached Image: Softside Picture Bookmarks.jpg

The DVD is similar in style to the STart DVD I recently did (This was my first test print so there are a few errors showing in these pictures - The size of the main print was a bit off so I made a bad cut to fix it; also the inside cover background color is way off as I printed the wrong file but you get the gist of the idea - it will be fixed in the next go-round):

Front: Attached Image: Softside Picture Front.jpg

Back: Attached Image: Softside Picture Back.jpg

Inside 1: Attached Image: Softside Picture Inside Cover 02.jpg

Inside 2: Attached Image: Softside Picture Inside Cover 01.jpg

Side: Attached Image: Softside Picture Side.jpg

It will probably be a couple of weeks until I run these - there are a few minor fixes as noted and the text on the back does not quite read correctly..

Anyway I am at least doing two sets :) (I owe Allan a set for sacrificing many of his SoftSides)

I didn't spot this at the time. If there is a chance of getting in late I'll take a set.

I'm not clear if you have #48 March '84. I have that issue.

I ended up only making a few of these.. I think I sent three out. Looking at what DVD sets I have sitting here: three softsides, eight Atari Force, four "Atari Books", and three STart magazines.. Life is really busy right now, when I get a few extra minutes I'll put up a post if anyone wants any of them.

Hi. I looked a long time ago for someone who even knew what SoftSide was! I read it for the Atari - typed in all the proggies and learned a lot of BASIC in the process.

Is there somewhere I can actually find these - torrents seem dead as do many of the rapidshare links.

I actually had a letter to the editor printed - I think in the issue with the Catacomb looking cover (orange/brown) and when SWAT was relased, but that issue seems to be unavailable.

I'd like that one in particular, but as many as I could get would be awesome - my parents got rid of them when we moved and I'm sure just reading some of the articles would bring back some great memories!

I actually have my own IT company today because of my introduction to Atari stuff back in 1980 at www.technicalrs.com if you care to take a look.

Thanks for any help.

Volume # and date of mag would be a lot of help. If you have that info.

According to the covers on page 1 of this post, I believe it's 44 vol5-10[30] 1982-07 Dungeons of the Gods - but that one in other lists is reported as wrongly marked. I pretty sure it was the SWAT issue (this one), as the editor responded to my question of how the programs might be better bug-proof by pointing me to "this months speacial article about a new program called SWAT".

ThumpNugget, if you start making these discs again, I would be interested. I'd never heard of SoftSide until now, so it seems like it would be another nice piece for my collection.

If you post a list of the missing issues, I'll try to upload them one more time.
