Well, got my other cable the other day, and I gotta say, yeah. Get a RGB cable, it's so much clearer than the AV cable. And that's kinda funny, cause on most systems I never notice the difference. Still the box on the screen, but when I use the projector, I just put it closer to the screen so I see it more properly  (now if I couldd just adjust it so I don't see the start up screen in full screen mode....itwouldn't be as irritating if it stayed one one size)

I keep seeing you talk about a RGB cable. Was there a RGB cable released for this in Europe that you imported?

Are you talking about the component cable? Also, I assume by AV that you were talking about composite?

If so, I'm not surprised you see a nice boost in quality going from composite to component (Or RGB?). While I never bought the composite or s-video cables (Saw no point, went with component from the start), on my other consoles such as the original Xbox, I always saw a nice boost in visual quality going with component cables. Even just connected to a standard definition CRT, I can see a clear visual advantage with the PS2/Xbox/Wii with component over composite.

No Import, I bought the official Sony brand ones from Walmart StS (so I guess technically they could be imported but...)

AV, just the Red/yellow/white cables like most systems were packed in with till the HD systems come out. And yeah, for RGB, the one that has a Red Blue and Green cable for video and the white/red cable for sound....

But the thing is, like say on the 360, I've tried it with AV and RGB, and it doesn't seem to make a difference in video quality...maybe I just got something set wrong, but it's supposedly set for 720either way.

Granted, I'm one of those that sees zero difference from DVD to bluray untill you get a true HD screen....maybe it's just that the PSP is low enough resolution to start with that it helps me see the difference

While I'm not really aware of the technical reasons behind why it's different, I don't think component video (YPbPr) is the same as RGB. What you have are component cables, not RGB cables, despite the cables also having red, green, and blue connections. RGB analog component video (Common in Europe, barely present in the United States) and YPbPr analog component video (What we're all used to for modern game consoles) aren't the same thing.

What's set to 720 either way? I assume you mean 720p? The most the PSP will output (Although maybe modders can hack it to output something at hd, I wouldn't know and don't care) to a television is 480p, and only with the component cables (Or D Terminal in Japan). The composite cables will only do 480i.

I'm surprised you don't see a difference on the 360. I've ran my 360 for a while on a SDTV using composite and component. I thought component was a vast improvement, even though it was just at 480i. The 360's composite output seems to be the worst I've seen in years, I don't think any real attention or care was put towards that since the 360 is designed for modern televisions. Was a very poor quality signal that wasn't pleasing to look at at all and would give me headaches after a while.

My TV and X-box are set for 720P. I was just saying I thought it was weird I didn't see a difference when viewingthe X-box in one cable or the other, and it seemes so easy to see on the PSP....but then again, the PSP gots a lot of weird settings (like interlacing? Why, even SD is high enough rez to support it pixel per pixel) and that may be why I can see a difference.
