I came across some PS1 Long Box games at a local video store. I don't know much about the original Playstation and was just wondering if there is a price guide for the long boxes or if they are worth anything aside from the rarity of the title.

Slightly more. I'm in the market. What titles and conditions? I may want some if you are going to resell.

I grab longbox games whenever I see them. I just think they look cool on the shelf and it's neat to have the earliest version of the game possible. I have Destruction Derby, Air Combat, Resident Evil, Twisted Metal, and some pinball game that I can't remember right now. OP, if you collect for PSX, you should grab them.

I have about 8 of them. Unfortunately they are currently in storage.

I also usually snag them when I see them. I have a few of them from collecting over the years:
-Krazy Ivan
-Starblade Alpha
-Viewpoint
-Space Griffon VF-9
-Street Fighter Alpha
-Cyber Sled
-Descent

I might have a few more kicking around, those are the ones I can remember off the top of my head.

I like the look of the long boxes, but the jewels are even more fragile than CD cases, so finding intact ones doesn't happen to often, unless you find the gross cardboard versions (and I can't stand those...go figure :P )

I personally think for games that were released in long boxes and cd's, the long boxes should be worth more. But that may just be me.

I'll try to get you a list. They have quite a few and they look like they are originally from a video store as rentals.

Yeah, back in the day I bought them on release. Toshinden, Jumping Flash, Ridge Racer, Doom, and MK3 that I can recall. All I have now is Toshinden of those originals.

Don't have one, don't think they came out in long boxes in europe. Did see that primal rage also has a long box version.

Tips and Tricks Magazine had an article + listing of all the long box PS1 games. I might still have it somewhere if anyone needs it.

Cool, could you scan it? It would be neat to see what all they had.

The piece in T&T Magazine was written by Joe Santulli (a.k.a. digitalpress).

Here's a thread on DP where he posted the list in text form:
