Hi, I am having a little trouble with the modified Vectrex lightpen,all the options just flicker on the screen when I put the pen up to it. This is the parts list, I wanted to know if there is anything wrong with it, I'm using the Playvectrex circuit

any help on making this would be appreciated, I've spent a while putting it together and I really want to be able to use it now.

Those are pictures of the circuit. On closer inspection the lead that connects the Phototransistor to the resistors wasn't soldered on right and was only making intermediate contact, so I'll try soldering it tommorow and see if the results are affected. I also sawed down the tip of the marker to put the transistor closer to the point.
