Any of the gurus around here work for Panic (Mac software)? They went a little Atari crazy recently with cool retro boxes and art. Coolest part is you can actually buy these.

Hot damn, they actually went through with this. They contacted me a while ago to show me the artwork, back before they actually had boxes made. The artwork is damned impressive and very much follows the style of the old Atari picture label artwork. I wonder how many boxes they had printed.

They make great Mac software--I use their Transmit FTP program daily.

Hey guys! AtariAge was a hugely helpful resource during this project. I'm glad you guys like it and thanks for checking it out!

If you have any questions about the production, let me know.

(And Albert, send me your address, I owe you a set!)

Looks like I know where a good portion of my Intellivision money is going. :D

Ironic that I want to maybe get a set of the posters as well.

Personally, I think making repro Atari 2600 game boxes is taking the love of classic video games a bit too far. With what Panic did & the makers of the Venture Brothers DVD covers(putting your twist on it) is rather nice.

I don't know what this "Windows 7" thing is you're talking about, but they sure will be nice on my OS X desktops. :)

The artwork for Candybar is particularly good. That closeup shot of the chef is hilarious.

Oh, those are too cool! Must resist. They did an incredible job re-creating the artwork style.

"Windows 7"? "OS X"?

What are either of those? I think you guys meant to say "these will surely look good on my infinitely superior Linux box desktop"

For what it's worth, AtariAge is running on Linux. :)

I don't know about spending more for an empty box than one with a real game in it.
I guess if I already had everything else...

Now posters like this with the real artwork (like Defender, Space Invaders, ) would be worth some bucks.

It has been done already and folks are not bitching, they are buying. These boxes are not "good" or "really nice" or "great" what they are is factory made perfect. If a title like Stadium Events, ect. was made like this you would get ripped off, so would I and so would anyone else cause these boxes are factory made, not a flaw to be found, 1:1 perfect. These pics do the boxes no justice at all but just for the sake of seeing with your own eyes:

[attachment=146672:MDH (3).JPG][attachment=146673:MDH (4).JPG]

I only wish I could afford to get a factory pressing of boxes for my games like this.
