Just thought some others here might be interested in knowing that The Retro League, a weekly podcast covering all forms of retro gaming, are on the verge of releasing their 12th episode and they are running a contest for 2 unmarked Parker Bros. Atari 2600 games.  All you have to do to enter the contest is to write a short e-mail about an Atari related event in your life, maybe it was when you got one for Christmas or when you found that rare elusive game you wanted.

Entries can be sent to: theretroleague@gmail.com

Their site is http://www.theretroleague.com, they are a pretty entertaining show, give them a listen, you might find out that you like them.

Just wanted to let everyone know, episode #12 is out now, plus they have started an interview series that you can download separately.  Good stuff.

The Retro League has just released episode #14, this episode is all about Atari systems and games.  I figure that might be more interesting to the members here.  Great show.

Also, the second Interview has been released, this time with Dan Loosen, co-founder and co-organizer of the Midwest Gaming Classic and it is a great interview.  I won't be able to attend the MWGC but after hearing how things will be different from previous years, I really wish I could be there (listen to the interview to find out what differences there will be).

Also, The Retro League have forums up now for those interested in keeping up with the latest TRL news.

Right now, to me, The Retro League is the top retro podcast to listen to. Huge Johnson even sent me a few Atari carts in the mail. :)

You were the first winner?  Very cool to hear from people that win those contests (especially when it is someone that is active on a forum).  Congrats.

Have you entered their BIG Contest?  A Dreamcast and some games and such are up for grabs.  They need at least 9 entries to go through with it and if they get 19 entries or more, they will include more games or something in the prize.  Not too shabby a prize there.

Did they ever say what the mystery Pkr Bros. carts were? Did anyone know or did they keep it a secret?

& did the real soft-spoken guy (I picture actor Michael Cera) formerly(?) host The Wiire podcast?

I will check on the carts.  I know that one of them was a Star Wars game (The Empire Strikes Back) and the other was Combat.  The winner was Critical Failure, of Tigerclaw TV/Radio (link to the unpacking video below for those interested).

Unless I missed it, in that video, the only two carts that Critical Failure showed were Combat and The Empire Strikes back.  I could be wrong.  I will go back and check again, just have to find that episode.

Episode #41: The Clone Wars marks the first official episode of The Retro League to be played in their new time slot of 10:00 PM EST on  Gamer Network Radio in the newly expanded Retro Thursdays.

This week we debate the merits of clone systems and talk about the Earthbound series, which is odd because none of us have played a single game from it. That's alright, there are plenty of other games we actually have played that we chat about too.

This week, all four members of The Retro League gather round to cover all sorts of Retro goodness.  We even manage to hit every regularly scheduled segment!
