JamesD
A work in progress video of an Elite like game for the Oric Atmos. Pretty cool!
oracle_jedi
Wow! Nice work! - when can we expect a port to the 8-bit Atari? :-)
JamesD
Wow! Nice work! - when can we expect a port to the 8-bit Atari? :-) I don't think the author is an Atari fanatic so I doubt he will port it. However, there is always a chance he'll release the source code. You can follow development here. Please don't bug him about an Atari version or source code. Thomas Jentzsch
I really looks cool, but the wire frame animation seems a bit (too) slow.
JamesD
I really looks cool, but the wire frame animation seems a bit (too) slow. The Oric has a 1MHz 6502 and a bit of a funky display so that's actually not bad. I do think he can speed it up more before he's done. I tried to register to the forum linked to above to offer my help, but the process always crashes. Is that just me? The C64 version draws circles with lines where this tries to draw a real circle. I'll mention to the admin you had trouble registering. Thomas Jentzsch
I see 1 problem. The C64 version draws circles with lines where this tries to draw a real circle. That shouldn't be a big problem. There exist ultra-fast circle drawing algorithms. I am pretty sure he used them already. I'll mention to the admin you had trouble registering. Thanks, but I found a way to contact the admins myselft. Problem solved.
