Hi. I was looking on the bBAsic forums, and there seems to be more adventure type of games out there, so for now I am scrapping my Gauntlet game.
I wanted to attempt a game for children, so here is my idea for it.
The classic Bible story of David and Goliath.
I still need to get collision detection just right.
Need to find out how to add sounds, and a health meter(for both David and Goliath if possible). A better title screen, or a animated one.
Amongst other things.
So, I know the AA'ers will not pull any punches, so let me have it.

You might consider using the NUSIZ register to make Goliath bigger.

No. I wanted to make a "valley" looking playfield.
Please understand. I am not asking people to make my codes for me, etc. If it does, then I am sorry.

You can limit how far a player goes up by putting something like this in the code:
if player0y = 12 then player0y = 13

Also, if you have a spare missile you could put in the "no_blank_lines" option.

New Bin. Made Goliath bigger.
Still got a long way to go. Any and all feedback is well appreciated, both positive and negative.

The collision-detection needs a little facelifting. The game idea is nice. My tip: If David shoots, the stone has to fly in a ballistic curve. Maybe you can shoot the stone over the rocks and hit Goliath :). Donīt ask me how you can realize that :roll: . Looking forward to see your next bin-file.

Yeah, the collision detection sucks on it. But, I dunno what to do at this moment.

Perhaps have the game from the side. Possible to change the projectory of the stone with the joystick.

Donīt change everything. The playfield looks good. If David fires, start 2 objects, a missile and a ball. The missile flies stright to the enemy, equal to as if you fire now (But itīs only the shadow of the stone). The ball is the real stone, the position will first be more and more left, and later more and more right. if they have the same x-position, they will fall on the ground or on Goliath.

Thank you. I am learning more and more about bBAsic every day. If the gfx looks a little cartoonish, then I have did my job. besides making this a children's type game, I just wanted to make something fun as well.

Your english is fine. I just don't know all the codes, and stuff from bBAsic lol.

I show you what i mean (Attachements).

So you can hide behind rocks and fire your stone over it. Disadvantage: You canīt hit Goliath if he is close to you.

I am back for now. I hope in the future to have a updated bin for this game. I planned on making this a game for children. Real life rears its head when you least expect it to. I will keep the posts to a minimum, and I hope to have more time to work on this game.
