First, check out my comments and the response on a previous review of Bump N Jump:

Then read this article and note some of the comments like "Forget that I never played or saw the arcade games, it really doesn’t matter"...

There's a bunch of other blog entries located here with more reviews:

Yeah that comment in the second article seemed to be aimed squarely at you.

Pretty bad articles, the both of them. Not just the content but the writing itself, especially the grammar. I've never heard of that website, but I am given the impression that they are just trying to cash in on the surging interest in retro gaming by half-assedly covering it. I guess they hope that someone will come to their site after their Coleco "reviews" pop up on Google.

Chris

Edit: I read another review by a different author and the grammar was just as bad. Don't they have an editor or anything?

Not much substance there, sort of like a couple of teenagers talking about what they watched on TV last night.

Okay, really, so I got to play Bump-n-Jump. It’s a simple, really really low graphics game. Simple music, and easier controls. Your car jumps over other cars and I can land and squash cars too. Or I can whack cars into the road obstacles.

It’s fun for me, but definitely not for a modern gamer’s tastes. On a retro scale, this is as pretty simple as you can get. Anything further and you’re looking at text based MUDS. (Yes, I know MUDS!)

Simple game. Miss a jump, run into an obstacle and die in a fire filled crash. Still, easy enough for me to play and pick-up, but I don’t see myself going back to it.

Too bad there’s no puzzle games for ColecoVision, I would try it.

I think the reviewer is simple.
