Over an hour ago via UPS to my front door where I met the driver for it.

It's real, a Flashback 2+ exactly like those pictures posted by Curt earlier in this forum with its box, old ATARI logo, manual, XL 2600 T-Shirt, Sports Arena games Double Dunk, Realsports Boxing, Realsports Soccer, Super Baseball, Super Football, also, both Yars' Return and Lunar Lander are no longer out of adjustment or flicker.

Circus Atari is that new "Top Secret" menu game.

Thanks again Curt, Marty et al at Legacy Engineering!

Who is going to be the first to mod their FB2+? I plan to mod mine right away, but won't have it until next week, apparently.

Anyone willing to open up their FB2+ and take pictures of the PCB?

I'm assuming you will mod it with an internal Harmony cart?

Now I find myself in need of a pair of paddles. Hm....

On that note, mine came today but I haven't opened the box yet....

Now thinking this is a great idea for a 2600 portable.
Mod the FB2+
Add the Harmony cart guts... and wala...
everything you need.

Can you share how to unlock the hidden game? Just plug in paddles?

First use the joystick to enter this code 1-UP, 9-DOWN, 7-UP, 2-DOWN (Atari's birth year), then select from Super Breakout, Warlords and Circus Atari, now plug in your paddles for play, you can also use them on Arcade Pong.

Hope that helps!

Signed,

Rick

As you can see, it really looks no different than the FB2. And I do find it...kinda weird to have the old logo on the console, and the newer one on the controllers AND the AC adapter, but I'm sure they're just using up old stock. It's easy to slap an old fuji label on the console itself. I've only played Adventure, Adventure II, Battlezone and Asteroids on it so far. Adventure II is MUCH harder than the original...great little piece of programming!

Here's a close-up of the shirt:

Here's the FB2+ alongside the original FB2. No real cosmetic differences aside for the logos:

And here's the FB2+ alongside one of its ancestors:

Unfortunately it looks like we'll all have to wait and see if any retailers list it on their respective websites.

Just for grins I decided to hook up the TrakBall I got recently to the FB2+ and tried Centipede and Millipede. Sweet! Certainly handles the controller better than the XEGS does.

Mine arrived yesterday. The console is so small and cute! It is 9 inches wide by 6 inches. I went right to Return To Haunted House and can't figure it out.

Does anyone know how to switch to the game select screens after finishing a game? I've just been turning the power off and back on, but that doesn't seem right.

Cycling the power is the only way to get back to the menu. My understanding is that the menu is controlled by a separate chip, which boots the console and turns control over to the 2600 hardware when a game is selected. Since the 2600 games are not aware of the extra chip, they can't switch control back to it.
