I forgot to mention something funny about The King of Kong. A good friend of mine had never seen Spinal Tap, Best in Show & A Mighty Wind. He's got similar tastes in movies & humor, so I made him watch them all. Then one night I threw in KOK. I had to tell him over & over again that this movie was 'real'! To this day I still think in the back of his mind he isn't quite sure.

I tried the point press challenge, got 26,600. Seems the longer I stay on a level the more likely I'll eventually get killed. My last guy I left a lot of points on the board since I died about 1/2 through the level. So getting better!

The top score right now could be 41,400...I just need the guy to comply with the submission guidelines before it's official.

Will be tracking down Chasing Ghosts as well shortly. Since King of Kong is five years old now, have there been any other documentaries like this released? Maybe not neccessarily just related to arcade games and competing, but anything regarding games in general.
There's Doctor Kong about Hank Chin. It's a short flick though. Like 20 mins or something.

Also there's King Of Chinatown which is about Justin Wong and his SF4 Competitions. I haven't watched this one.

Someone else mentioned High Score. I haven't seen that one either.

I bought a copy at the Kong Off earlier this year. It's OK...Hank's "good people."

Thanks for the recommendations, I will check into those as well. I was following the competitive fighting game scene for a little while, so the one on Justin Wong will probably be interesting to me for sure.

ok. I watched this the other day and got to thinking..

They denied his first video tape submission because they questioned the authenticity of the arcade board used in the machine.

Yet at the end Bob Day told him that he has proven himself and to feel free to submit any video taped records for future review. The movie ends showing him hooking up his old Donkey Kong machine and playing. Now if this is the same machine that was in question why were they willing to accept his future submissions. If that is/was the case then wouldnt that make his original submission valid?

I'm confused! :o
