First off, any chance Space Duel will be tweaked into having the tether mode? That's a very major point of contention for me as I'm a big fan of the arcade.

Okay... first poll here (sorry it's short), but thanks to one of The-top-dog's contests, I've got a $25 gift certificate burning a hole in my virtual pocket. Never bought a 7800 homebrew yet and wanted to pop the cherry on one of these.

I own an Asteroids upright arcade game and used to have Asteroids Deluxe up until recently. Great game, but it's still Asteroids - just a little harder.

Space Duel is an arcade game I used to have also, but haven't played one in years. Since I have this in no other form, kinda sorta leaning toward it.

Currently have Super Pac-Man on the 60-in-1 board in my Pac-Man cabinet, BUT... I absolutely love the game and wouldn't mind playing it on the 7800 once in a while.

Short and sweet, which one would you choose and why?

The stats are mind boggling. At least 24 views, 4 votes and no comments. You damned dirty window shoppers! lol

I own all 7800 homebrews on available on AtariAge and out of the ones you listed I picked Space Duel because it's such a rare title for ANY system. No offense to the other titles as I love Super Pac-Man and Asteroids Deluxe.

I never owned a 7800 until those homebrews came out. Once I saw them I had to get a 7800 and never looked back. :)

Space Duel will never have tether mode. It's too complex for the 7800.

I picked Super Pac-Man because I love the Pac-Man family of games and it is a great port. All of the 7800 homebrews have been excellent and have given new life to the 7800!

I own all 3 and Super Pacman is ahead of the pack by leaps and bounds IMO. And if I had to choose between Asteroids Deluxe and Space Duel, I would pick Space Duel.

If I had to pick one, it would be Super Pac-Man only because I enjoyed playing it a ton back in the day and it holds a sentimental place in my gaming memories.

In reality, I plan on getting all the homebrews for the 7800 as they all look soo good! The amazing work being produced for the 7800 is staggering!

As for the other 2 titles... Space Duel does look more interesting to me but that doesn't mean I won't enjoy both of them! :)

I don't have any of them but I would go for Super Pac-Man. Isn't Asteriods Deluxe and Space Duel just a hacked 7800 Asteriods? So if you already have Asteriods on the 7800 you basically have these two, which is why I would go with SPM.

They are hacks but are done so well you would swear they are complete new games. Very different than the original titles. Don't sell them short and give them a try! I play Space Duel all the time. It offers a real challenge and plays great!

Okay, thanks for the input all. Just placed an order for Super Pac! The Q*Bert & Burgertime clones look great, but I've got them on so many other platforms already. Guess I'll put off Space Duel until if/when it comes out with the tethered mode. I know someone already mentioned that it would be impossible or too complicated, but the experience is a 2-player must.

Why isn't Jr. Pac-Man on the list? It's awesome!

I pretty much love all Pac type games - but Jr. is my least favorite. Can't stand the scrolling maze. I'd rather play Professor Pac-Man than Jr. any day. lol

Wow, got my Super Pac cart today! As always, am amazed at the fit and finish of these AA carts and manuals. Al, you must have a robotic arm in a 'clean room' slapping these labels on. Both the main and end labels are perfectly centered, as per your norm and the quality of the manual is second to none. Oh - and the game itself is pretty good too... lol Only popped it in for a few minutes, but seems like a top notch title for sure. Thanks again for the recommendation all!
