Question, has anyone else had problems with the first Sonic Adventure on their Dreamcast? I cannot get mine to load at all. I've tried it on three different DC's but no luck. I know I've played it before because I've got saves on my VMU. Any idea's on how I can get it to work? I really want to play it again on the original system. Thanks!

If you've played it before, it's possible the drive could have crapped out on the DC (though unlikely on three different units) If you have an original GD game for the DC, and it gets scratched, that can screw it pretty easily (the DC is just so damn finicky) It's possible to rip the game to a standard CD which the DC may not have problems with, and the computer may have a better luck reading the disc, even if it's scratched.
I would try another game in each of your systems, or an audio CD, the Audio CD would let you know the system would at least work, but the laser may be to far off or burned out to read a GD, so a retail game would be best.

Hey Video,
Thanks but from what I know about the other systems it must be the game. I've played other DC games I own on my Dreamcast and the other two systems I know work fine with other games so Sonic must be messed up. I'll have to either find a new one or burn a copy to a CD. I may try burning a new one since I've burned other games to CD and they play fine on my systems. Thanks again.

People have told me that some disks, Dreamcast in particular, tend to go bad through some sort of bit rot after a period of time. In some cases, I think it's related to the ink bleeding into the plastic or something. Music CDs do this also, but since they are analog signals, it takes a lot longer to notice a problem.

The only thing I've heard of is the bad batch of Sonic Adventure Discs Sega had problems with early in the DC's life. (I think there ended up being a recall)
