[Mister VCS]

Game Info

You control a laser cannon at the bottom of the screen, and need to destroy wave after wave of brightly colored demons. The demons bounce around the screen in bizarre patterns, and try to destroy your cannon with bombs or lasers. When you shoot a demon, it will be replaced with another or will split into two smaller demons depending on which wave you are playing.

Haven't played this one in a while, looking forward to some more Imagic goodness. Seem to remember the controller not being ideal for this...

Playing this with a keyboard make my hand hurt. I don't have a joystick device for the PC so I bought myself a CIB copy on Ebay just a little bit ago. With my luck lately I should have it be Wednesday.

What are you using as an emulator?

I'm having problems with mine (nostalgia 5) looks like a cannot fire and move at the same time.

ugggh. That was ugly, not going to bother posting a picture. 1805. I suck at this, particularly on game#4. I guess I must have played on game#1 back in the day because I do remember being better than this. Not sure I'll bother trying this again, we'll see.

Yes, Game 4 starts you out at the speed of the 3-4th run thru on Game 1, just at the lower missle setups... Its not easy, I can go on and on... lol

Nostalgia v5.0 I have no troubles with Demon Attack. I use the keypad to register game mode #4 (getting the yellow player), and then fire with the Ctrl key to fire. (you can also hit 4 again to engage auto-fire if you wish instead)

Got to the second mother ship.
Looks like my computer is too slow for the mother ship levels.
I will see if I can maybe use a smaller resolution.

Game 4 on Demon Attack, ugh .. not easy. Not the best setting but still a fun ride.

Game 4 is tough. This was my 5th attempt. I think i can do better. It is ok to use auto fire right? Don't want to put a lot of stress on the side buttons.

Speaking of saving wear on your hands ... if you find that the controls give you cramps, try turning the hand controller sideways (with the disc under the right thumb and the keypad in the left hand). In this configuration, you'll be pressing "Up" and "Down" instead of "Left" and "Right," but the game will accept this and your ship will move left and right. You might also try controlling your ship by "rocking" the disc back and forth with your index and middle fingers instead of using your thumb.

Combining these two techniques, and curling your hands downward in your lap as you hold the controller, can relieve a lot of the strain on your wrists.

Never thought of the top/bottom move, nice 1... As for the mother ship levels, your goal here is to PILE the shots in, regardless if they hit the birds or not, as it takes X missed shots to wear out the mother ship's force field, and the X number of course goes up each trip up there.

I forgot how much different this game is on the Intellivision. Game 4 makes it even tougher...

My 4th attempt yielded a better score. I will have to try again later when I have less distraction in the house.

Sorry, please do not use any auto-fire option. I can't accept this score. But you have enough time to create a new decent score.

whoa whoa, wait a minute here.. this is not using a special controller or anything... on INTV Demon Attack it is an Imagic built-in feature by simply hitting any number key on the keypad. I dont like it as I like to have my own aim, but dont see why cant use a programmed part of the game IF u choose to do so.

Nope, just hitting the shield weakens it, suprisingly, every shot that either totally misses the ship (far left or far right), or hits a bird enemy for a whole single point (jip!) does nothing in regards to the shield.

Yes, thank you Cparsley!! Now I can actually 'PLAY' this. LOL.
Mother Ship really needs auto-fire, as my buttons, are not good to shoot rapid thumb fire with. None are I bet...

I recommend auto-fire on the 'Mother Ship' only. Might be easier to aim with your own thumb fires,
on attacking aliens and birds. Less misses, and more acurate.

I couldn't say it better myself, if you MUST use auto-fire, this would be the place to use it. Personally, I prefer to manual fire there, so to have my shot incase one of the phalanx birds are after me.
