Spent ages researching on the net and come to a brick wall. I thought this mod would have been easy, however I can't find the locations on the board to do this composite mod!

Opened up my 1979 Intellivision (PAL) and looking on the diagram below, can't identify any resistors which read 2K2, (ie R10), can't find a transistor marked PN2222 (Q2) they read 1402B or 3906, the video line

seems to go just to one component (the black thing), and I can't work out where therefore to connect the small circuit needed below (just 3 components). I am finding it therefore hard to do the composite mod - can you help me please?

I can't work out where to connect the extra components in red to from the pic therefore!

Here is a pic of my board - can someone please offer advice?:

BTW - Removed the hot glue from the left heatsink but can't get the thing off - any suggestions?! Also, what are the chips under the heatsinks, I know two are graphic chips LM1886 and LM1889 but don't know which on the above are they.

Also, is the audio just tapped off pin 4 of the AY-3-8914 sound chip?

As you have gathered, I have tried to do my homework, got stuck!!

I really want to composite mod my Intellivision, especially as my televisions don't seem to like RF consoles ("weak signal" etc).

That is for a mod kit that is basically similar to the schematic above, although made as a mod kit.

I'm after doing the mod directly. The diagram is off GamesX's site, although as mentioned, having trouble working out where on the board to connect the extra components onto.

Anyone help please?

I've removed the heatsinks from the three large chips and removed most of the epoxy from two chips - one is an RA-3-9600 which is a system RAM and dual port interface; the second is an AY-3-8900 TV interface chip (but pinout doesn't look relevant) - having to remove more epoxy from the other chip to read what it says. In any event, this site: http://gamesx.com/wi...tellivision_pal says the video is attained by a LM1886 / LM1889 chip pair - I don't see any such chips on the board; and there is just the one remaining chip with more pins than these have (the chip is a 40 pin chip, like the other two large ones).

Ideas?
