I spoke to a friend of mine yesterday. I told him I was at a flea market. Funny thing is that someone else we knew was there earlier than I was. He told me that our mutual friend found a guy with Atari games and had a blue label Pitfall and blue label Donkey Kong. He texted the guy I spoke to on the phone and asked him if these were good to pick up. He suggested the DK, so he bought the DK. I got to the table later on, not knowing this guy bought a DK from the seller already, and saw the blue label Pitfall. I actually passed it up for a buck, being a rather common blue label.

Anyway, I did not see the DK, but had not heard that there was a blue label DK. Can someone confirm this? I saw some weird black cart with blue title on Atari Mania made by Coleco. But I was under the assumption that this was a blue text Activision label. I'm going to try and get in touch with our mutual friend and see if he can send me a scan of the DK.

That appears to be a proto or mockup cartridge of some sort (it's in an Atari-style case).

I've never heard of such a thing. If it really has a blue label like you say, it has to be a pirate of some kind. It certainly wasn't an Activision blue label, since they didn't release any version of the game (only Coleco/CBS and Atari did).

Well I'm going to try and get ahold of him and see if I can get a pic. Maybe my buddy misunderstood the question and it was a blue label Pitfall and just plain old Donkey Kong.

Yes, AFAIK that one is a rare Coleco release.
