Is there an adapter for ColecoVision cartridges?

For when I'm not playing Sega or SNES games, can I used this for Atari/Commodore/etc emulators as a controller adapter? Would love to use my old Epyx sticks for Atari emulators. I used to have a Stelladaptor but it was lost in a location move.

Also what are the differences between the Retrode and Retrode 2? Can someone still buy the Retrode?

It looks like the Retrode 2 has controller ports built in. I still think it needs a NES and VCS cartridge slot.

on this page, it says people have made plug-in adapters for the Atari 2600, N64, GBx, TurboGrafx-16, and Virtual Boy:
http://www.retrode.o...ug-in-adapters/

my question still stands: can you use the retrode2 to hook up old Atari controllers for Atari emulators?

I do know the creator is working on cart adapters for other systems. A lot of the information on Retrode.org is for the original Retrode that came out a few years ago. Some people did make adapters, they may even had made there own.

Good question about the Atari controller compatibility.

I'm in if it works with old Atari controllers for Atari emulators. getting something that works with Atari, Sega, and Nintendo for a bit more than a pair of stelladapter-like devices would be enough for me.

Well it won't work out of the box with Atari games, but maybe cart adapters will be released eventually.

I understand that out of the box, you cannot use Atari cartridges. But are you also saying that the Retrode 2 cannot be used solely as a controller adapter if one so chooses? It requires a cartridge to be plugged in for it to work?

Oh I have no idea to be honest. That wasn't what I was trying to say. I am still waiting to get ours in so I can play with it.

I saw an article about this on one of the other information sites that i visit on a daily basis. As someone who has several Sega Genesis cartridges, this would be a great way for me to play some of the games without having to go back and hook up my Sega Genesis to the old TV set. I always worry that one day either the Genesis or the TV will stop working and then i will no longer be able to play these games except through emulation which is not quite the same.

Right now it seems that it is only available from Gemany. I saw someone in this thread merntioned that they have received some already so i am going to see when a USA distributor gets set up.

Well I am U.S distributor and just posted a few posts ahead of you where you can pre-order (#31). Ours are already on there way from Germany. These were made in Germany so it makes sense that the German distributor got them first.

I have a question. On your site it is listed as retrode 2 but the site in Germany lists it as retrode. Are they the same model or are they different from each other?

Same model. Its official name is "Retrode", but I like to be clear on my site what version something is. I do same the thing with clone systems when newer versions come out so the buyer knows exactly what they are getting. The German site did not sell the original Retrode to my knowledge so they probably don't care about differentiating between the original and the new version.

If you have ever seen the original Retrode it looks completely different so there is no mistake which is which. First one was gold and had no controller ports.
